The princess’ carriage had been prepared. However, just when Aie was about to go up after Arielle, a fat man with glasses and a girl called out to her.
"Aie? Are you Aie?" The man’s call made Aie look back.
"Oh, Dylan?" Aie got down again and ran towards the fat man.
"Are you Aie? For real?"
"Oh, my gosh Dylan! Long ti no see!!!" shouted Aie, grabbing the hand of the man nad Dylan.
Arielle, Kael, and Lazarus were curious as they looked at the fat man from head to toe. Lazarus got back down from his horse and drew closer to Aie.
The girl who realized Lazarus’ presence recognized the man as the gallant Admiral of Northendell. She fixed his hair, putting it behind her ear so Lazarus could see her face clearly.
The girl often heard rumors that the admiral liked beautiful won, and she wanted to try her luck. She blinked her eyes gracefully and pretended to blush.
"I saw you earlier. It’s just that I was a little hesitant because you are so different now."
"I’m still the sa Aie, though? What are you doing here?" Aie asked. She just realized there was another girl beside Dylan. Her eyes glanced at their intertwined hands and smiled.
"Oh... you guys want to get married, huh? You’re just about to register your marriage, right?" Aie asked, teasing Dylan. Then, the man blushed shyly.
"Yes."
"No," replied Dylan and the woman at the sa ti.
"Huh?" Aie frowned, as did Dylan, who suddenly released their intertwined hands.
The girl was still staring at Lazarus, who was watching Dylan from head to toe. anwhile, Lazarus frowned at the sight of Aie’s hand that was so casually holding the man’s right shoulder.
"Who is he, Aie?" Lazarus asked.
"Dylan, my friend at the academy."
"Only two years because after that I didn’t go to school," Dyan added while scratching his hair, feeling awkward.
Lazarus then turned to the girl beside the man.
"Good afternoon, Lord Lazarus," the girl greeted in a sweet voice.
"You’re his wife?" Lazarus asked .
"No! I’m still single," she replied shyly.
Dylan clenched his jaws and looked Lazarus straight in the eye. Is this because of a handso man standing in front of them?
"She’s my future wife. I’m here to consult for our marriage," said Dylan trying to made his girlfriend ca back to earth!
"No! I never said I would marry you!" said the girl disapprovingly.
"But, you said last night you wanted to be my wife?"
Aie feel so awkward right now. She intended to back off until a sentence ca out from that woman’s lips....
"Are you crazy? Which girl would want to marry a fat man like you?!"
The girl’s answer was like a hard slap to Dylan and Aie at the sa ti. Aie took one step to approach the girl. Her hands were clenched hard. Dylan already knew what Aie had gone through before she went to academy, so he didn’t want Aie to hurt his fiancée.
Dylan held Aie’s shoulder.
"I’m fine," he said, making Aie sigh in frustration.
Aie raised her index finger to give the girl a warning. "You have made a big mistake. Dylan is a nice man, but you just-"
"Aie, it is okay."
Aie pulled Dylan’s hand away. She ca over to the princess’s carriage. anwhile, Arielle had seen the fight just now.
"Your Highness. I’m asking your permission to co back late today."
Before Arielle could say anything, Aie left the carriage while dragging Dylan, who was walking with his head down. Lazarus wanted to catch up with Aie, but Arielle grabbed his arm.
"Lazarus, let them be. I’m back with Kael first. You wait for Aie here, but please don’t disturb them. Give her so ti."
Lazarus nodded in understanding. Kael actually wanted to convey his objection. Aie was his sister. Princess Arielle should have told him to wait for Aie instead of Lazarus. However, Kael couldn’t convey that. He just nodded, following the princess’ orders to bring her back safely back to the palace.
The girl who was with Dylan earlier was silent. She gripped her hand, which was shaking in fear from Aie’s intimidation. Lazarus gave the girl a strange look. For so reason, Lazarus didn’t want to comfort that grieving girl.
Usually, whenever he saw a sad woman, Lazarus would quickly embrace them and give them sweet words so that the woman would stop being sad.
However, this ti, it was different...
Lazarus followed them. He entered the chapel, then checked the windows one by one, where Aie had brought the man. He arrived at a window near the backyard door. Lazarus could hear Aie and Dylan’s voices quite loudly. It seed that the two of them were also leaning against the wall.
If Dylan did sothing strange to Aie, Lazarus could quickly grab the man’s collar from the window.
"She’s my fiancée. We are here to talk to her father, who is a priest in this chapel. Last night, I proposed to her, and she accepted . His father had also approved of our relationship. Honestly, I am really hurt because she lied in front of people."
Aie held Dylan’s shoulder, who was dropping dejectedly. "I know how you feel, Dylan. The sa thing happened to ten years ago."
"Yeah, you have already told . That’s why I held you back. I’m afraid you beat her like you beat Admiral Lazarus."
Aie chuckled.
"You are right. If you didn’t stop , I might have broken her neck," Aie replied, making Dylan take a deep breath.
"I thought she really loves ." Dylan looked at his big hands. "Does the fate of fat people like us have to be publicly humiliated first?"
"Dylan, if you need a friend to talk to, I’ll be there for you. Just like you did ten years ago, listening to my story while I was sobbing pitifully."
Aie and Dylan were friends who t at the academy. Both of them had much fatter bodies than most of the other students. Seeing the similarities made Aie and Dylan beco friends.
Before entering the academy, they received the sa treatnt. People made fun of them just because they were fat.
