"What’s wrong with your sister? Did she make a fuss? Lazarus asked, then he got a death glare from Kael. "Heh, sorry. I’m just kidding," he added.
"Your Majesty is going to make Aie beco the Princess’ personal assistant," Kael replied, making Lazarus burst out laughing.
"Are you serious? Her? Beco the Princess’ personal assistant? I thought she would beco a knight, just like you."
Kael couldn’t be upset with Lazarus’ words because it was true. Ten years ago, when she entered the academy, Aie made a vow that after graduating from the academy, she would beco a knight in order to kick Lazarus’ ass who constantly bullied her.
Lazarus was still laughing, imagining the fat Aie running after him while holding a wood to hit him. He was curious how big the kid was now? The man was giggling at the thought of Aie being much bigger. Maybe because of her fat body, she canceled her plan to beco a knight. Was there a knight who couldn’t run?
Lazarus couldn’t wait to tease the girl again and made her run with her pot belly. He would tease her by saying there was an earthquake every ti the girl took a step.
Kael watched the overly happy Lazarus, knowing well what was on the man’s mind.
"You, please don’t et Aie. I don’t allow it."
"Oh, co on... I already treat Aie like my own little sister," Lazarus replied.
"No, Aie is not like before. She has bad-temper now. She really might actually break your neck."
"Oh, really?" Lazarus asked anxiously.
He could imagine Aie as a bison ready to attack him at any mont, and it made him nervous and a bit excited.
Arielle took the damp cloth from Ronan’s forehead and checked his temperature again. At least his body temperature didn’t go up.
"I almost forgot that I made an appointnt with Aie," said that man with a long sigh.
Ronan didn’t have ti to check his schedule this morning. Since the evening Arielle forbade him to leave the room, and he was forced to take a day off from work. Normally, William would tell him the schedule, but he was not allowed to work.
"I can et her in your place," Arielle replied.
After all, Ronan’s eting with Miss Aie was to ask if she was willing to beco Arielle’s personal assistant, right? Arielle could interview her directly.
Ronan thought for a mont. Initially, he planned to et Aie first and observed whether the girl was a suitable candidate for Arielle’s personal assistant or not. Ronan didn’t want Arielle to feel uncomfortable later because she couldn’t refuse Aie since that girl was Kael’s younger sister.
Ronan wanted all the candidates to pass his selection first before they t with Artielle. However, if he thought about it again, this could be an opportunity for Arielle to learn to evaluate people who deserved to stay on her side or not.
In the future, when Arielle beca a queen, many types of nobles would try to get closer to her, and Arielle had to know whether they could be trusted or not.
"Since the purpose is to find your personal assistant, then you have the right to et with Miss Aie first. I will rest here."
Arielle nodded. "Thank you for your trust."
"You don’t have to worry. I’m sure Princess Arielle can make Miss Aie behave well. Besides, I’ve also said that Aie has changed, right?" William said, then took the water basin from the nightstand.
Ronan grabbed Arielle’s hand to stay by his side. He did not reply to anything William said and chose to close his eyes. After being ignored, William rejoined his two other friends.
It was a little awkward for Arielle because she was the only woman in the room. Besides, Ronan continued to hold her hand tightly, so she could not go anywhere but sat beside him.
The book that Lucas also brought with him hadn’t been touched. Arielle just sat watching the fire burning in the fireplace while listening to William, Lazarus, and Kael’s conversation about Miss Aie.
Arielle just nodded or replied to them if Lazarus or William asked her. Kael was mostly silent. He lived in the palace, so he knew little about the man who was going to be betrothed to his sister.
Their conversation got even more exciting when Lazarus told them about him, who was almost beaten with a stick by Aie ten years ago. Ronan frowned when he heard his na being ntioned.
He couldn’t sleep. All this ti, he just closed his eyes while holding Arielle’s hand so that she wouldn’t leave him. His ears were sharp enough to hear the stories that co out of William’s or Lazarus’ mouth.
Finally, Ronan chased William, Kael, and Lazarus out of the room. He couldn’t rest with them if they kept talking non-stop. Ronan had tolerated it enough, but they were too excited that their voices got louder.
To be honest, Arielle felt the sa way, but she was too shy to tell the three of them. They wanted to accompany Ronan so he wouldn’t get bored lying in bed all day, but they ended up making a fuss.
"Can you guys go away? I need enough rest, but your loud noises make my head throb," Ronan said while frowning.
William, who was still chuckling, looked back and smiled.
"Sorry, but rembering Kael’s face while watching his sister almost kill soone, I couldn’t help but laugh. Do you rember it?" William asked Ronan.
"William, after I recover, I’d like to read a report on the trade of coals with the neighboring kingdom and whether the funds to help Nieverdell have been used properly by Archie or not."
William’s laughter instantly faded, and his face turned sullen. It was Lazarus’ turn to laugh out loud at seeing William, who had to go back to work. Ronan turned his sharp gaze to Lazarus and the man imdiately covered his mouth.
"Ayayayay, I have to help you, William. So that you can finish your work quickly," Lazarus said, quickly avoiding Ronan’s sharp gaze. He had better leave the room because if he stayed there, Ronan might ask him to do so work. Lazarus didn’t want to work now.
Kael stood up first. "I’ll make sure my sister arrives on ti."
After saying that, the man bowed respectfully and left Ronan’s room, followed by William and Lazarus.
