"Soone said that you, William, and..." Arielle tried to rember another person’s na. "And... Admiral Lazarus are close friends of the king. He always spends ti with you all. And I’m pretty sure His Majesty is thinking the sa thing, that you are all his best friends."

Kael suddenly blushed when Arielle smiled slightly at him. He looked down because he felt it was rude to pay too much attention to Arielle. For so reason, he felt warm when Arielle said that King Ronan considered him a friend.

Himself, His Majesty the King, William, and Lazarus had been declared the four pillars of Northendell. They were important to the king.

He assud that the king had trusted him simply because they had been together since childhood and had attended the sa school.

All this ti, the king had only said that they were the pillars and pride of the North. He never ntioned anything about the word ’friend’. That was why even though William and Lazarus had always been relaxed with the king, Kael was quite the opposite. He always kept himself in check.

Kael never actually visited Blackthorn Palace unless there was a direct need or call from the king. He ca from a lowly noble family. So Kael didn’t want to act rashly even though he and the king had known each other for a very long ti.

"Thank you, Your Highness," said Kael.

"Lord Kael, are you not joining the hunting party with King Ronan?" asked Arielle with sparkling eyes.

Kael cleared his throat briefly, feeling nervous from Arielle’s gaze. "No, Your Highness. I am in charge of guarding the Palace while King Ronan is away. William is also leaving the palace, so the king assigned to keep watch."

"I see..."

"Your Highness, sorry for my impudence to suddenly ask like this."

"Yes?"

"Do you enjoy your days in the North?"

Arielle smiled again. The girl’s sparkling eyes narrowed into a beautiful curve like a crescent moon, making the man’s heart skip a beat. Lucas, who had been standing near Arielle, smiled when he saw the face of the superior knight blush. He thought one more person had fallen victim to the princess’s charisma.

"I really enjoy my days in the North. I have done a lot of things while I was here. Yesterday’s festival was wonderful. Then my trip to the border in the West was also very pleasant."

Slowly Kael began to admire the princess. Arielle had a unique charisma. Kael didn’t like ek won. He always aspired to have a fiery wife who was full of passion.

However, the charisma of Princess Arielle was so pleasant that Kael forgot about ti and wanted to sink into that montary peace. Her gentleness truly made him feel srized.

Ah, maybe this was the reason why the king was so infatuated with this princess, he thought. It was right how William described his king’s attraction to the princess using the word infatuation.

Now, Kael was starting to wonder, how infatuated was king by Arielle? Kael grew impatient, waiting for the king to return from his hunt.

The long trumpet sounded again. Arielle, Kael, and Lucas turned their heads in the direction of the last hunting groups that had arrived. There was a Northendell flag held by one of the soldiers. It ant the king had arrived.

"Let’s welco the arrival of the king, princess," Lucas said, offering Arielle his arm to hold.

"Please excuse , Lord Kael. Nice to et you. I hope we can talk again in the future."

"With pleasure, Your Highness."

Arielle and Lucas approached the entrance of the field. The drums stopped beating. Arielle could hear so people gasping, which made Arielle curious. After King Ronan got off his horse, everyone backed away, leaving Arielle alone, standing opposite the king.

Arielle covered her mouth with wide eyes at the sight in front of her. An adult stag, walking ekly behind with the king. The rope was tied around his neck in loose ties. The deer snorted softly.

"I brought you a live deer because I know you don’t like hurting animals," said Ronan proudly at the glimr of a smile the girl covered with her hands.

The deer was so beautiful. Its adult horns branched very wide, making the deer seem huge, and its horns rose almost as high as Ronan’s own ears.

"Want to touch it?" the man offered, making Arielle nod enthusiastically.

At first, the deer snorted harshly and tried to back away. However, when Arielle’s hand touched its face, the deer then licked Arielle’s hand with its tongue. Arielle examined the body of the deer and found there was really no arrow wound there. The girl loosened the knot around the deer’s neck and then hugged it tightly.

"Wow... This is great!" cried Arielle enthusiastically. But her eyes suddenly caught sight of a brown bear placed on a cart.

"Your Majesty? Did you kill that bear?" she asked.

"Well, I got it by accident. The bear almost killed your brother, so I had to shoot before Alexis got hurt."

Oh, was that the reason why Alexis was injured earlier and was imdiately taken to the palace? Arielle frowned when she saw the arrow that was buried deep in the bear’s head. A hand suddenly covered her eyes, preventing her from seeing the bear’s carcass.

"You don’t have to force yourself to see it. I intended to bring you a live deer from the start."

"Really? Then how do you get the deer to follow you back?"

Ronan chuckled. Well, he just chased the deer for a bit until it was exhausted and then he snared its neck. Then the king offered food. He actually didn’t think that catching a deer alive could be so much fun.

"I did it your way," he said proudly. "I fed him, then he followed ho."

Arielle narrowed her eyes in disbelief. "Really? You did that?"

Wild deers were not submissive animals like rabbits, cats, or other animals. The deer must have been born and matured while in the forest, so it certainly had a wild instinct in general that didn’t like being snared.

However, Arielle saw how it was not injured by arrows or other wounds on its body. So, the king’s story must be true. This made her feel really happy.

The drums on the stage sounded again, a man ca on stage to announce the winner of the hunting party. The staff imdiately asked Ronan’s gas to be collected with the others.

"And the winner of this afternoon’s hunting party is... His Majesty the King Ronan D. Blackthorn!"

Everyone cheered and applauded the king. The man invited Arielle to co on stage. Kael and Lucas joined in, clapping their hands as they stared in awe at the king holding a woman in front of his people.

"Is he telling us who would sit on the queen’s throne?" Kael asked Lucas.

Lucas, who was still clapping, nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah, I guess so."

Suddenly, Kael’s and Lucas’ shoulders were hugged by soone from behind. William appeared with a beaming face to see the king with Princess Arielle.

"Wow... that guy actually took Princess Arielle with him. Wow... look at those other won’s jealous looks. Ahhhh... so adorable."

Lucas just smiled at William’s comnt. Kael didn’t like that. So, he let go of William’s hand from his shoulder, making the man laugh out loud.

However, William’s laughter stopped because the next second, the man whistled loudly, adding to the commotion that celebrated the king’s victory.
