The crowd was thrilled to see their Duke coming. They subconsciously stepped on the other side to open a path for them. Freya was riding high from the public’s attention. It was her first ti, feeling all the eyes on her. She intentionally hooked her arms around Silas’s arms, smiling and letting them know that Duke Silas belonged to her.
Isabella subconsciously kept a remarkable distance from them. She understood that the couple needed their own space and she was turning into a third wheel because of Silas’s order. During their visit to the fair, she kept looking at the objects absentmindedly. Unlike Basarisk, the objects all here were related to werewolves. She was so imrsed in her thoughts that the two who had followed her went unnoticed by her.
Freya jumped forward to grab a flower crown from a young girl who was selling it at the fair. She brought it to Silas before telling in a soft, cooing voice,
" Your Highness! Put it on , please! Tell if it looks good on or not."
Freya spoke before casting a side glance at Isabella’s direction. Isabella was a few feet away from them. Her eyes were suddenly stuck on baby clothes. Her painful mories suddenly returned and she no longer paid attention to Silas or Freya. But Freya was persistent in making her known. She kept shouting at Silas, holding the flower crown in her grip,
" Please... Please..Your Highness!! Please..Help put it on."
Silas was irritated by her behavior. He didn’t think twice before grabbing the crown and putting it on Freya’s head with a grim expression. His little act didn’t get unnoticed by Isabella who suddenly shifted her eyes on them. A stab went through her heart so deep that she barely could watch them anymore.
Why was she feeling so bad? It was everything that she wanted.
She looked down and pretended to see the staff in the stalls, her eyes itching to look in their direction. Silas was soon called out by his group of friends. He walked away from Freya to chat with them for a while.
On the other side, the two n finally got them alone. Their debate didn’t stop as one of them claid that Isabella was the woman of their target whilst the other claid that it was Freya. In the end, they brought to the conclusion that they would take away both girls. In this thought, they called their carriage to stop nearby. The two n split into different directions at the thought of abducting them.
Isabella was watching a bracelet when she felt a presence behind her. Before her head could turn around and see, she lost her rational thoughts. In her mind, she was following a strong sll that the man was carrying with him. Without any effort, the man had led her into the carriage like a statue. Freya was taken in the sa way only the difference was that she was taken into a different carriage. The two carriages left in the direction of the North, hidden from the eyes of all the people in the fair.
By that ti, Silas was done chatting with his friends, he ca back to find Freya first. His eyes narrowed with irritation,
" Where did this woman go?"
He was slightly relieved, thinking that Freya might have gone shopping on her own. He could finally get so ti with Isabella alone. On this blissful thought, his attention shifted to the spot in which Isabella was wandering. His whole expression sank when he found no one there. Panic shot through his calm heart. He dashed around first in search of Isabella but she wasn’t seen anywhere nearby. Suddenly a bad feeling crawled into his heart. He almost forgot that he had his enemies in this kingdom as well. His reckless act made so many enemies unintentionally.
Silas ca back to the stall again where he saw Isabella first and asked the shopkeeper,
" Where did the girl go? The girl..who was watching the baby clothes?"
The shopkeeper was a young man. He rembered to take a glimpse of Isabella’s going and replied in a polite voice,
" Your Highness! She..she went into a carriage by herself."
Silas knitted his eyebrows tight. Did she leave by herself then?
But sothing felt missing. Isabella was a mature girl. She wouldn’t go without informing him at least. Where did she go then?
______
Isabella woke up in the carriage. By that ti, her hands were tied behind her, prohibiting her from using magic. A gauge was wrapped around her lips, making it harder to say a simple word.
She opened her eyes wide with difficulties. When she saw the unfamiliar place, her face turned sore and startled. She looked down at her legs which were tied together.
How did she appear here?
She searched deep in her mories. After her last visit to the stall, nothing ca to her mind. Isabella fell in deep thoughts and looked up only to see two n drinking liquor. They were celebrating their success in abducting the woman.
One of them noticed her waking up and asked in a raspy voice,
" That bitch.. wake up.. Should we put her to sleep again??"
Isabella tried to speak but she wasn’t heard because of the gauge, wrapped around her lips. She was repeatedly asking why did they abduct her in the first place? What did she do wrong?
The other man replied, shaking his head,
" NO!! The lady must see them first. After she confirms which one we should kill, we will decide then."
Lady??
A line of question marks appeared on her face. It sounded like they were instructed by a woman to abduct her. Who could be so bold as to abduct her under the nose of Duke Silas?
She kept asking herself until they arrived in a broken farmhouse in the middle of the woods. The two n dragged Isabella out. Once she ca outside, she was even more shocked to see the scene in front of her eyes...
