Alexander was left in shock as soon as Cedric uttered those words. Definitely, he didn’t know about the pros and cons of Demons. His brotherly love for Ayra only thought that Cedric was unwilling to save Ayra. He lifted his fist to aim for Cedric, growling at his way to pounce on him,
" You.. Bastard..You are a fucking Demon..We all know that...You don’t want to save her, isn’t it? You are just mad at her that you can’t fuck other girls because of our mother’s promise..You..."
Frenchies held his fist before it could fall on Cedric who stood there defenseless. He had no strength to fight against Alexander now. All he could see was her skin turning pale, the light beating her heart. Frenchies begged, separating the mad prince from Cedric,
" Prince.. Prince... Please.. It’s not ti to fight against each other..We have to save the lady first.. Please!! You can try everything with her health condition...I will speak with the king by myself.."
After turning a little sober, Alexander glared hard at Cedric before turning away to walk for Ayra’s bed. Frenchies turned around to grab Cedric and dragged him out of the room while he continued remaining in the daze. Taking him far away from the crowd, Frenchies stopped on the corridor to coax him softly,
" My king, it’s not ti to fall this weak. There must be a way to save the lady. You are a powerful demon descendant. Why can’t you.."
" I CAN’T FRENCHIES!", Cedric shouted, his voice lacing with desperation. His lips trembled together before blurting those words out,
" Hayden is a true demon now. No matter how many powers I have, there are so protocols among Demons. We can’t heal soone who is hurt by a true demon..The sa way..I couldn’t save Roxanne from Hayden... and her unborn child..."
Frenchies hung his head low. His heart ached for his king, his friend and soone who gave shine in his life. Maybe when you care for soone truly, everything about them affects you, hurts you the sa way like it’s your own suffering.
History repeats itself.. ! It was repeating again..!
A long silence passed between the master and servant. After a while, Frenchies rose his head to look in the sky. He witnessed this man, losing too much. He couldn’t see him suffering anymore. He suggested, pulling his eyes back at Cedric who was looking dead from outside,
" The king..King Ralph.. Perhaps, he can do sothing.. Although he isn’t a true demon now, he was once before. His powers are much superior. Why don’t you beg him, my Lord?"
Cedric looked up at Frenchies hesitantly. He never treated Ralph well.
Will he be willing to help him this ti?
As if Frenchies had read through his mind, he tapped on his shoulders like a brother and muttered sorrowfully,
" It’s okay to bow your head sotis for your loved ones. Powers aren’t always our greatest strength."
Cedric swallowed before looking up at the dark sky outside. He thought for a long ti until he disappeared in the air, leaving a light of hope for Frenchies.
Miles away from the Basarisk, multiple black souls gathered around Ralph, one of them sounded alarming in a cold voice,
" Prince Hayden is missing from the valley. We didn’t see where he went!"
Ralph tightened his brows in suspension. Whenever Hayden went missing from the valley, sothing bad happened. Just when his lips to give his command, another soul appeared to notify him,
" Lord, Your other son.."
The soul sealed his lips shut quickly and corrected after clearing his throat,
" King Cedric is here for your arrival.."
Ralph’s face turned dark in worry. He was a little excited too at the sa ti. Cedric ca to et him on his own for the first ti. Ralph waved at his soldiers as a sign of dismissal. After he approved, Cedric was brought to him.
Even without saying anything, Ralph was shocked to see his features. That arrogant look in his eyes was gone. For the first ti in his life, he found him broken, empty without emotions.
Ralph called his na softly,
" Cedric.."
Cedric dropped on his knees, sitting in a kneeling position in front of Ralph. His words sounded like a whisper,
" Save her... please...I never asked anything from you despite you offering everything to ..your powers..your throne..But today, I want her from you.."
It took a while for Ralph to understand everything. He asked crunching down to raise him up from the ground,
" What happened to her? Are you talking about your wife?"
Cedric closed his eyes shut, blurted in fury,
" Your unfilial son..he stabbed her..she is suffering..pls..I...I can’t afford to lose her.. "
Ralph gasped in disbelief, his face hardening painfully. He blurted back in rage,
" What!!! So this ans.."
Ralph couldn’t complete his words since they both knew the painful truth. Swallowing hard, Cedric replied on his behalf,
" Yes..you are assuming right..She is hurt by a true demon and can’t heal through any powers. She is dying. Help....I can’t.. "
He choked on his last words and looked away to hide his tears stubbornly. Ralph felt ashad for his own actions. Years back, it was him who begged Cedric to give Hayden another chance. If it wasn’t for him, Cedric would have been living a blissful life with his wife.
Ralph took his arms back numbly. His head hung low in remorse. Who would have thought that Jasmine and her son shared the sa fate?
Cedric continued staring at his Ralph hopefully. But Ralph was silent for a long ti. After a heavy exhale, Ralph muttered in a complicated expression,
" Cedric.. you know what is the consequence of dealing with a demon? Even if we have powers, we can’t give anything they ask."
Cedric promised firmly,
" I can give anything for her..any deal or my soul.. anything.."
Ralph muttered after swallowing hard,
" We are givers and takers. If we give anything, we want sothing in return. I can help you perhaps but under condition only."
