"Drop to a nearby hotel." I ordered my driver before leaning my head against the cool glass window. The streaks of light from the street stretched into long glowing lines, slowly blurring into one another as the car rolled forward into the night traffic.

I exhaled sharply and closed my eyes, pressing my temple lightly against the window. I don’t think I can think straight if I went ho today after everything I found out.

The Phoenix, based on the information I got from Leo, they are one of the most dangerous Mafia’s in Country P, their business include drugs, human trafficking, prostitution and whatever heinous cris in the book.

I felt like my stomach is going to hurl everyti I think about it, bile rising at the back of my throat as the images forced their way into my mind.

But they are the mafia so I think that’s hardly surprising. I was just too sheltered to be involved with it.

At least, that’s what I know. Unless my family has been hiding sothing from .

Seriously, this is hurting my head. But learning this could help with my revenge. Now that I know the identity of the people I’m up against, I can’t afford to bring a knife to a gunfight.

"We’ve arrived, Young Miss," the driver spoke as soon as the car ca to a halt.

I opened my eyes and looked out the window. We were in front of a towering hotel—one our family owned—its glass exterior reflecting the city lights like shards of crystal.

"Alright. Tell mother I’ll be staying here today." I said to the driver who ca to open that door as soon as I got out the car, stepping aside respectfully as I smoothed down my clothes and planted my heels firmly on the pavent.

The cool night breeze brushed against my skin as I made my way toward the entrance, the golden lights from the hotel casting long shadows beneath my feet. I was about to head inside when I felt my phone buzz inside my purse.

I quickly paused mid-step and took it out, my fingers digging through the leather before wrapping tightly around it.

It was a ssage from an unknown number. My brow furrowed as I stared at the glowing screen. No one knows my new number aside from the people closest to and everyone is saved in my contact list since I decided to change it.

This is too suspicious.

But my gut is telling to answer it.

"So? Are you done playing kid’s ga? Are you ready to take it seriously now?"

It was a man’s voice. One I’m not familiar with. My brow furrowed as I slowly lifted the phone to my ear, my eyes instinctively scanning the area around .

"Who are you?" I asked, confused, my fingers tightening slightly around the device.

"Oh? You didn’t rember ? Should I put on a voice changer instead?" he replied. And that’s when it clicked.

He was the owner of the blue envelope.

"Do you want to take revenge?" he asked again after I haven’t said anything, the silence stretching heavily between us. "If you are I’m willing to lay down my card on the table." he added.

"How can I trust you?" my voice is unsure, my lips barely parting as I spoke. Since I don’t think I know anyone who would help willingly like this.

"You tell ."

I bit my lip before speaking. "Reveal yourself to . Maybe then I’ll be willing to trust you."

A slight chuckle echoed from the other side of the phone. It was mildly infuriating. I was dead serious.

"You’re so predictable," he teased. "Look at the car behind you."

As soon as he said that, I slowly turned around, scanning the parked cars behind until sothing caught my eye.

A black car sat a few ters away on my right. Its tinted window was slowly rolling up, and inside, a man wearing sunglasses held a phone to his ear.

"Quietly enter the car behind . Let’s talk sowhere else," he ordered before finally hanging up.

I wasn’t sure what to do at first, but my gut told this was the only way I could get my revenge.

They destroyed everything I worked so hard for. It’s ti I finally do sothing.

With that thought, I walked toward the car behind him. It rolled forward and stopped right in front of , the engine humming softly.

I calmly opened the door and entered the car. I was alone in the backseat; there were only two of us inside— and the driver.

"Where are we heading?" I asked as soon as I got comfortable in my seat.

The driver glanced at through the rearview mirror for a few seconds before shifting his gaze back to the road.

He didn’t say a word.

"Did he tell you not to answer ?" I asked again. The atmosphere was growing heavy and suffocating, but I was t with silence.

"Fine. Don’t answer then," I muttered, annoyed, before leaning back against my seat and closing my eyes.

It took at least an hour before the car finally ca to a halt. I slowly opened my eyes when I felt it stop moving.

The driver stepped out and opened the door for in his usual silence.

When I got out, I was already a few steps behind the man. All I could see was his back—broad shoulders, confident stride, an aura that scread danger even from a distance.

I was about to complain when several staff mbers dressed in black approached and guided toward a specific area.

"This way, madam," a woman with a sleek black ponytail said politely.

I rolled my eyes but followed them anyway. It didn’t seem like they had any intention of answering my questions.

When we arrived at the man’s office, I couldn’t help the confused sound that escaped my lips.

It wasn’t what I expected.

For soone with such a dangerous aura, his office was surprisingly minimalist and white. The walls were pristine, almost blinding under the soft lighting. The only warmth ca from the brown wooden furniture and a few black accents carefully placed around the room. Everything was neat. Controlled. Calculated.

He stood with his back to , staring out the massive window that overlooked the city skyline. The silence stretched for a few seconds before he finally turned around.

My jaw nearly dropped to the floor.

"It’s you?" were the only words I managed to say.
