Just as she was about to move the cup towards herself, her hand felt weak and failed to grip it tightly. The cup slipped from her hand and fell to the floor.
The cup didn’t break; it just left a wet patch on the carpet.
Su Jiuyi looked helplessly at the cup on the floor and then glanced sneakily at Shi Aoju.
Shi Aoju raised his sword eyebrows, then stood up, grabbed another cup from the dining table, and poured so warm water.
He strode over to her, then sat at the bedside, supporting her back with one hand and slowly feeding her water with the other.
While drinking the water, Su Jiuyi sneaked a peek at him. Perhaps it was the first ti he’d fed soone water; Shi Aoju was very careful, his eyes full of seriousness as he watched Su Jiuyi finish the whole glass.
Su Jiuyi felt her face growing hotter and hotter.
"I’ve got your leave sorted out, the fever’s gone down. Just sleep for the afternoon, and soone will co to check your temperature," he said, picking up the suit jacket from the clothes rack.
"Are you going out?" After saying this, Su Jiuyi realized she’d just stated the obvious.
"Yeah," he replied, "Soone will co by and bring lunch."
Su Jiuyi nodded, then suddenly realized what he had just said.
What!? Soone will bring lunch, which ans all the maids outside know she’s in Shi Aoju’s room!
How did she get back here...
Could it be that Shi Aoju carried her back? If so, wouldn’t everyone have seen it? The gossip hotline outside is probably blowing up now...
Thinking this, Su Jiuyi imagined Shi Aoju carrying her in like a princess... Her face indeed got redder.
Sure enough, it was less than five minutes before soone ca up with breakfast, and it was that maid she was close with.
"Jiuyi, are you alright now?" The maid, Chen Qian, placed the tray on the table beside the bed, looking worriedly at Su Jiuyi.
Su Jiuyi shook her head, giving her a smile: "The fever’s gone, nothing major."
"That’s good. You have no idea, when you sat in Young Master Jue’s car returning, your face was all red, and then a girl supported you all the way, directly rushing into Young Master Jue’s room," Chen Qian said.
Ah...
Su Jiuyi’s brain froze for three seconds. Was it Qi Jingren who helped her in?
"That girl is your friend, right? I even heard Young Master Jue, frowning and sowhat annoyed, telling her to take you back to your own room, but after the girl ca out of Young Master Jue’s room, she clapped her hands and refused, unless Young Master Jue carried you himself."
This is clearly matchmaking with a red string.
"She also said that if she didn’t take good care of you, she’d call Young Master Jue’s mom or sothing... But at the ti, everyone was discussing it, so I didn’t clearly hear what else she said."
Su Jiuyi had thought Shi Aoju bringing her water and arranging for soone to bring her als ant he was no longer mad at her, but it turned out it was Qi Jingren who coerced Shi Aoju by bringing up his mother, forcing him to take care of her...
What wishful thinking.
Su Jiuyi shook her head, sighing softly.
"You’re still lucky, though. Was Young Master Jue’s bed comfortable to sleep in?"
Su Jiuyi pouted. She’d fainted from a fever, so how could she experience what sleeping in his bed felt like? But now, as she regained so consciousness, she realized it felt much more comfortable than her own bed.
"The housekeeper gave you a day off. She said you caught a cold and got a fever because you slept squatting at the doorway last night. Why were you squatting outside?"
