Shi Aoju walked ahead and pressed the elevator button, while Su Jiuyi stood beside him, pondering how she could apologize sincerely.
She rarely apologized to people over the years; she wasn’t a troublemaker, and most argunts and fights were instigated by others. The phrase "sorry" was hardly in her vocabulary.
When the elevator arrived, she didn’t think twice and followed him in, completely forgetting the last encounter they had in the elevator.
"What did you go out for?" Shi Aoju’s abrupt voice sounded, icy cold.
Su Jiuyi was stunned for a mont, caught off guard by Shi Aoju’s unexpected question. Just then, he turned her face towards him, and a warm breath enveloped her.
His kiss carried a sense of plundering and punishnt, forcefully prying open her lips and ravaging every corner of her mouth.
Su Jiuyi froze there, unsure how to respond, left only to let him take what he wanted.
Ti ticked away, and soon the elevator reached the floor of Shi Aoju’s room. With a "ding," the elevator doors slowly opened, and Shi Aoju released her lips.
Su Jiuyi’s face was slightly flushed as she looked at him, standing there in bewildernt.
From the mont it began till now, it was less than half a minute, yet she felt as if an entire century had passed.
Faced with his sudden kiss, she seed to have lost all ability to think.
Shi Aoju let go of his hold on her, then turned and left the elevator without uttering a single word, leaving Su Jiuyi standing inside, breathing erratically.
Watching his tall figure shrink away as the elevator doors closed, becoming epheral, and ultimately disappearing.
Su Jiuyi leaned against the iron wall of the elevator, coming to terms with the fact that Shi Aoju had kissed her while she was conscious.
She rembered how, as a child reading fairy tales, her mother told her that a kiss represented two people truly in love, a way to express affection for one’s lover.
But Shi Aoju’s kiss was clearly filled with anger, like a reprimand for soone who had made a mistake.
Furthermore, how could he possibly like her?
Su Jiuyi walked out of the elevator dully, reaching into her pocket for her keys only to discover she was still wearing Ciaos’s uniform, and the clothes she wore earlier were in her locker, with the keys in the pocket of that outfit.
She squatted in front of the door in defeat, thinking she really shouldn’t have angered Shi Aoju; now even heaven was punishing her.
Just then, her phone beeped, a low battery warning. Su Jiuyi took out her phone to find the screen dimming, with only 5% of power remaining and the phone about to shut down.
At this crucial mont, even the phone wants to quit?
It truly confird the saying: when it rains, it pours.
She calculated using the last bit of battery to call a maid she was close to, but just as she dialed, the phone went black before the call connected.
The maid’s room key was only with the housekeeper, but it was almost midnight now.
The housekeeper usually went to bed early to be energetic enough to supervise the maids’ work the next day, and given her usual intimidating deanor, Su Jiuyi dared not ask her for the key.
