"Hide." Seeing the man driving this way, Mr. Qin pulled her into the nearby bushes.
The BMW whooshed past, kicking up dust from the road. Qi Jingren pinched her nose but couldn’t help coughing a few tis. Luckily, the car had already gone far by then.
"Let’s go, keep chasing."
After Mr. Qin finished speaking, he was about to pull her towards the forest on the other side. Qi Jingren waved her hand and whispered, "I’ll chase that guy from earlier. He’s highly likely the one who shot Chao Jiuyi."
"It’s been five minutes already. You won’t catch up. Besides, you don’t know how many people the other side has; it’s too dangerous." Mr. Qin pulled her and ran several dozen ters away.
A flashy red rcedes was parked in the forest, its bright color clashing with the gloomy, damp forest.
Qi Jingren looked at the car disdainfully and whispered, "You actually brought it out again. If following soone with this doesn’t get you noticed, then he must be really dumb."
Mr. Qin ignored her words, opened the driver’s seat door, and sat inside, then gestured with his eyes towards the passenger seat.
Qi Jingren understood, opened the door, and sat inside.
He accelerated and drove forward, soon catching up with the BMW that had just turned around a mountain road.
"Who is that?" Qi Jingren asked.
"Zhao Ren, the general manager of Green Group. I ran into him while dining with Jue at Haotai tonight." Mr. Qin controlled the throttle, trying to keep a distance from the car ahead to avoid alerting them.
"So you followed him here?"
"Yes." He squinted his eyes and answered, "We’ve had als together before, but every ti he’d get dead drunk and have his assistant carry him back. Compared to today, his behavior was too unusual. He left early without touching any alcohol; knowing that he’s a heavy drinker, it’s odd."
"And then? Maybe he suddenly realized he wants to quit drinking. Just based on that, you decided to follow him?"
"Of course not." He rolled his eyes at her, "While I was in the bathroom, I overheard him ntioning sothing about cargo on the phone. To my knowledge, Green Group never deals in arms, so I thought he might be selling sothing else and decided to check it out. Besides, didn’t you call earlier asking to alert Ciao’s security to monitor? So I connected the dots and followed him here."
"Maybe he bought a gun just for self-defense?" Qi Jingren said.
"I’ve sparred with him in a taekwondo gym before. He fights well. If it’s just for self-defense, he wouldn’t need a gun." Mr. Qin explained, "So, it’s possible he’s being threatened with a gun by soone else, or plotting sothing unknown."
At this point, the car suddenly drove out of the mountainous area and onto the road, surrounded by other vehicles. Mr. Qin no longer worried, keeping a distance twenty ters away, just ensuring he wasn’t spotted through the rearview mirror.
"What about you? Why are you following that man in black?" He leaned on the car window with one hand, holding the steering wheel with the other.
Qi Jingren looked ahead and replied, "No particular reason, just simply felt that person seed like the one who shot Jiuyi."
"I have the sa feeling." He agreed, then smiled and turned to look at her, "I didn’t expect your intuition to be quite sharp."
Qi Jingren glanced at him and suddenly rembered sothing, "Oh, I still need to call Jiuyi."
