"Alright," Qi Jingren said with a smile, "I know every family has its own difficulties. If they force you to get married, I’ve got your back; I’ll have my brother marry you."
Su Jiuyi was amused by her words.
"Don’t laugh, my brother is very handso and wealthy, and he’d never be as cold to girls as Shi Aoju."
Su Jiuyi teased, "Rember what you said today."
"OK, go change your clothes."
When the two ca out after changing, they happened to overhear so waiters in the corridor discussing Xiao Chen.
"Xiao Chen has this rugged, handso vibe. His smile is a bit charming."
"He’s been coming here so often lately, and only leaves at dawn. Did he take a liking to one of the ladies?"
"Haven’t heard anything about that..."
Qi Jingren snorted disdainfully and said, "I knew he was just like Qin Shaobai."
She pulled Su Jiuyi behind her and approached one of the waiters, asking, "You were talking about Xiao Chen?"
The waiter replied, "Yes, still in the sa room as before. He said soone should send alcohol over later."
"Alright, leave it to us. Go ahead and do your work."
Perhaps it was that shooting incident that left a shadow in Su Jiuyi’s mind, or maybe it was the unease of sneaking out without Shi Aoju’s permission. She felt nervous, and her palms were constantly sweaty.
"Can you deliver the alcohol?" Qi Jingren didn’t know about the incident that happened when Su Jiuyi delivered red wine to Shi Aoju last ti.
Upon hearing about delivering alcohol, Su Jiuyi was indeed a bit scared but nodded, "No problem, I can do it."
Just as Qi Jingren was about to speak, she suddenly saw a fleeting shadow at the end of the corridor, resembling the figure she and Qin Shaobai saw in the mall’s surveillance...
Su Jiuyi followed her gaze down the corridor but saw nothing, "What’s wrong?"
"Here’s the plan, Jiuyi," Qi Jingren handed her the keys and whispered, "Head to the bar or the lobby, anywhere with a crowd, and call Shi Aoju to co and pick you up. If anyone tries to find you or asks you to deliver alcohol or anything, don’t move."
Seeing that person, Qi Jingren realized bringing Su Jiuyi out was a mistake.
But having caught a lead, she couldn’t let that person slip away from her sight again.
Though worried about Su Jiuyi, she was also aware that no one would dare harm her in broad daylight at Ciaos.
Su Jiuyi didn’t know what happened, but she trusted Qi Jingren, so she didn’t ask further and just nodded.
Qi Jingren hurried off, and Su Jiuyi watched her retreating figure and reminded her, "Be careful."
"Got it."
Qi Jingren didn’t look back and quickly vanished around the corner.
Su Jiuyi frowned slightly, turned, and walked toward the elevator. She had to wait as the elevator was currently on the VIP floor upstairs.
She pressed the elevator button, watching the numbers on the display change one by one. Suddenly, there was a burst of laughter behind her.
"Mr. Xiao, don’t be like that," a flirtatious female voice rang not far from her.
Instinctively, Su Jiuyi turned her head and saw a man with his arm around a scantily clad, voluptuous lady heading her way. His hands were improperly roaming all over her, eliciting soft moans from the lady.
