Recalling the scene just now, she still felt very frightened, instinctively curling her body into the blanket.
"I know about the surveillance," Shi Aoju said as he walked to the door and adjusted the room’s lights to a warm hue, hoping it would ease Su Jiuyi’s discomfort.
"You know?" Su Jiuyi looked at him in surprise.
Seeing her curled up like a little cat, Shi Aoju suddenly found this side of her quite adorable.
Her dayti self was too stubborn, often making people annoyed, but this gentle side of her, perhaps, was her true nature.
"I had soone check the surveillance that morning; it’s been edited out," he said.
Who would be so skillful?
"Then you should believe when I say that sending alcohol to your room wasn’t to..." Su Jiuyi initially wanted to say "get into your bed," but thinking it inappropriate, she rephrased, "wasn’t with an ulterior motive..."
Shi Aoju stood by the bed, nodding nonchalantly before furrowing his brows.
It seed this matter was not simple. He had always thought it was so boring person’s prank, but checking the surveillance revealed it wasn’t as simple as he thought.
All computers in the monitoring room had been hacked, but the hacking technique was extrely sophisticated. Four days had passed, and his people still hadn’t identified the intruder.
The events of today made him even more convinced that this matter couldn’t be underestimated.
"Who knew about your plan to enter the surveillance room?" he asked.
"The employee who was with just now," Su Jiuyi answered honestly, quickly explaining, "It has nothing to do with her. I forced her to help . Don’t bla her."
"When did you plan it?"
"At five in the afternoon," Su Jiuyi had looked at the ti and rembered it clearly, "but there was no one else around at the ti, and we spoke very quietly, so no one should have heard. Why would soone be watching ..."
If she hadn’t discovered it in ti, it wouldn’t have been just the glass that bullet shattered; it would have been her heart.
Who was the shooter?
Shi Aoju’s expression was faint as he calmly said, "Don’t get involved in this matter. I’ll have soone investigate it thoroughly."
Su Jiuyi nodded, as if sothing had occurred to her. She thought for a mont before cautiously asking, "Does this matter have anything to do with your work?"
Shi Aoju responded with a mild "Hmm," offering no further explanation.
He didn’t know the manipulator’s purpose, but he was well aware that she, innocent as she was, could likely be drawn into danger.
Su Jiuyi had similar concerns. Growing up, it was her first ti encountering gunfire and bullets outside of a television scene.
In her bones, she had a strong curiosity about all suspicious matters, yet she shared her peers’ fear and timidity toward dangerous things.
"Um..." The atmosphere suddenly beca awkward, and she didn’t know what to say for a mont.
"Change jobs," Shi Aoju broke the silence as Su Jiuyi was still ruminating on her words. His tone was calm, not asking for her opinion.
Su Jiuyi looked at him in confusion, rembering that he had said sothing similar in the morning, suggesting she change jobs.
Seeing the confusion in her eyes, Shi Aoju rubbed the corner of his eye and explained patiently, "You don’t handle alcohol well; this job isn’t suitable for you."
