In this world, there’s no such thing as a Cinderella story. Only by striving to beco better can one avoid being ridiculed by others.

Having lived in the Su Family for so many years, Su Jiuyi knew this truth better than anyone else.

She laughed at herself, donned a cleaning mask, and took cleaning tools to tidy up the hallway outside.

Just then, the sound of footsteps suddenly echoed from the corner, coming closer and closer.

Su Jiuyi heard the sound and looked over in confusion, frowning as she assessed the approaching person.

Shi Aoju stood not far from her, dressed in a white shirt and black trousers, tall and slender, his features carrying an air of arrogance and unruliness. Beneath his brow, a pair of cool eyes focused intently on her.

It was that man.

Su Jiuyi recognized the man in front of her at once. That day, the manager called to ask about her accidental intrusion into a guest’s room, wanting her to provide a reason.

She simply found it amusing; she was also a victim, so why should she take the bla for this incident? She didn’t even know this man and had lost her innocence to him. Whom was she supposed to ask for reasons?

She was born with a hatred for those who bully others with their power, a loathing that bordered on extre.

"Is there sothing you need, sir?" she spoke lightly, as if she had never seen the person in front of her before.

Shi Aoju t her gaze, seeing resistance and struggle, and a pride and determination that were rare among her peers.

The current her was completely different from the obedient and gentle person she was last night, cold as if she had returned to that morning, raising all her defenses and becoming bristly, making it hard for people to approach.

He pressed his lips together, not speaking, simply looking at her quietly.

Su Jiuyi found him sowhat inexplicable, so she decided to ignore him, bending down to pick up the bucket at her feet to leave. Shi Aoju suddenly reached out his hand against the wall beside him, blocking her path.

He carried a powerful aura, creating an oppressive feeling that made one feel suffocated.

"May I ask if there’s sothing you need?" Su Jiuyi suppressed the anger in her heart, her tone becoming rigid.

She had no ti to play the gas of a romantic playboy; she was busy and had a lot of work waiting for her, unlike those rich families who could make millions in minutes and spend the rest of the ti enjoying life.

"Change your job," he finally spoke, still in his usual low and icy tone, but this ti it carried a hint of warmth.

Su Jiuyi raised her head to look at him in bewildernt, his pitch-black eyes as deep and unfathomable as a lake, lightly shimring.

The atmosphere suddenly beca awkward. She did not understand the aning of his words, and he had no intention of explaining, letting the ti pass by.

"Jiuyi?"

At this mont, a shout ca from behind, breaking the current mood.

Su Jiuyi turned toward the source of the voice and found Qi Jingren standing at the corner, lazily yawning.

Shi Aoju felt Qi Jingren’s arrival was ill-tid, while Su Jiuyi breathed a sigh of relief, thinking the awkward scene was finally broken.

She calmly apologized to Shi Aoju and then passed by him on the other side.

She walked quickly, and as she brushed past Shi Aoju, he could still sll the fragrance in her hair.

It was like poison, deadly and enticing.

"Um, did I interrupt sothing?"

Noting the tense atmosphere, Qi Jingren felt his appearance was too abrupt.
