The seemingly calm voice was exceptionally determined.
Watching Shen Cheng turn around and leave, Gu Liancheng smiled, and she gently shook her head to her assistant, indicating that she didn’t need help changing her shoes anymore.
"Sister Liancheng... actually, you don’t need to bla yourself too much. After all, this wasn’t sothing you wanted to happen, and I think you did just fine today, really," the assistant consoled her.
"It’s alright, I’m fine," Gu Liancheng smiled, "Since I’m not needed on stage now, I’ll head back first. Call if there’s anything."
"Okay, I’ll send you the video of the event later..."
Gu Liancheng had just returned ho when her phone rang. She took it out from her handbag, and seeing it was a call from Qin Jin, she felt sowhat surprised.
Not knowing whether to be happy or nervous, her palms sweated profusely, tightly holding the phone, she didn’t have the courage to answer.
While she hesitated, the ringing stopped as the caller hung up.
She helplessly smiled, placing the phone on the bedside table. She knew Qin Jin quite well. Although they didn’t end up together three years ago, she understood his personality better than anyone else could.
He dislikes doing things repetitively, and even with phone calls, if the other party doesn’t answer, he wouldn’t call again soon.
She lay on her side on the bed, gazing at her phone, lost in thought, but just then, her phone rang again.
Hearing the ringing, she snapped back to reality and reached for her phone.
Seeing "Qin Jin Calling" displayed on the screen, she couldn’t help but smile. After five seconds, she answered the call: "Hello."
"How is your injury?"
With no pleasantries and no superfluous words, Qin Jin imdiately inquired about her injury with a voice that seed sowhat worried.
"How did you know I got hurt?" When she fell on stage, she hadn’t seen him, and she thought perhaps he had to leave midway for sothing else, but it turned out he still knew about it.
"I was there the whole ti, I saw you fall," Qin Jin said.
"You were there the entire ti?" Gu Liancheng frowned slightly, "But when I fell, I didn’t see you, I thought that you, like everyone else, found my runway show boring and left."
"Don’t overthink it, just rest well," Qin Jin was silent for a second, then slowly spoke, "You looked very beautiful today."
"Really?" Gu Liancheng tightened her grip on her phone, biting her lower lip forcefully, waiting for his response.
Qin Jin: "When have I ever lied to you."
Hearing this, Gu Liancheng was reminded of three years ago when he was a playboy, changing won as often as clothes. Yet every ti she called to ask what he was doing, he always told the truth, even if he was with another woman, he never lied.
He was different from other n; if he liked soone, he liked them, if not, then not. He would not deceive won.

Gu Liancheng was silent for a long while before finally speaking, "Jin, can you co to see ..."
Her voice was sowhat low, perhaps feeling the request a bit abrupt. Before Qin Jin could respond, she added, "If you don’t have ti, never mind. It’s just, we haven’t talked in a long ti, so I was thinking..."
She didn’t complete her sentence.
