"I’m your man, you tell if I don’t have a say."

"You scoundrel! Shaless!"

"With you, who needs a face."

"..."

Their sharp exchange made even the servants around them sense the sll of gunpowder.

The servants dared not delay and quickly stepped forward to push open the exquisitely carved door, watching them enter before carefully closing the door.

"Xiao Yu, you’re back."

A pleasing and lodious female voice suddenly rang out, and a woman in her forties approached with graceful steps.

Her wine-red curly hair draped over her shoulders, clothed in designer brands, and even the perfu she used was one of the most expensive from a major international brand.

Her hand, painted with purple nail polish, gently brushed her hair, and although her lightly made-up face was charming, it was indescribably vulgar.

When her eyes fell on Shen Cheng in Shi Yu’s arms, her smile stiffened slightly, with a aning that was shallow and easy to understand—it was hostility.

Shen Cheng gave her a cold glance, responding with an equally cold look.

Unhappy with her? She was even more unhappy with her entire family!

The woman shifted her gaze from Shen Cheng and imdiately put on a smile when facing Shi Yu, asking carefully, "Xiao Yu, she’s your secretary, right? Is she feeling unwell, so you had to carry her?"

"What’s it got to do with you?" Shi Yu’s eyes were dark and chilling, his tone full of evident disgust.

The woman didn’t get angry at his words, instead she said with a smile, "How can it have nothing to do with ? I am your mother..."

No sooner had she spoken when Shi Yu’s eyes took on a bloody sheen, his thin lips parted slightly, enunciating every word, "Get out of my sight. Now."

His voice was as if laced with poison, fatal on the ear.

"Xiao Yu, how can you talk to your mother like that!" A deep voice ca just in ti, with a clear note of reproach.

The man speaking was nad Shi Yaoguang, Shi Yu’s father, who was sitting on the sofa examining antiques he had recently acquired with a magnifying glass.

After a while, he stood up, setting the magnifying glass on the coffee table. Seeing Shi Yu holding Shen Cheng, Shi Yaoguang’s face imdiately darkened, "In today’s society, being a secretary really requires full dedication!"

His words had an underlying aning, and Shen Cheng was not deaf to the insult—it wasn’t just her who could hurl veiled insults.

Shi Yu narrowed his deep-set eyes, and a bloodthirsty smile traced his lips as he said sarcastically, "If she wasn’t fully dedicated, then how would your secretary have ended up in your bed."

Shi Yaoguang’s expression grew even darker. He steadily stepped forward, pulling the woman to his side, "Ye Jin, in the future, even if this unfilial son does sothing unnatural, don’t intervene. It’ll save you the trouble."

"Yaoguang, don’t be like that, you know Xiao Yu’s temper. He just speaks a bit harshly. How can I, as his stepmother, stoop to his level?" Ye Jin, holding onto Shi Yaoguang’s hand, smiled in an extrely coquettish manner.

"I actually wish you would argue with ." Shi Yu spoke carelessly, lifting his lips with disrespect and indifference in his words, "That way, I’ll have an excuse to have you killed."

Ye Jin, despite her composure, could not help but show so emotional fluctuation upon hearing his words, but she was trying her best to restrain herself and not to reveal her unease.

Shi Yaoguang noticed that the hand he was holding was faintly trembling. His calloused hand covered Ye Jin’s, giving it two gentle pats, seemingly telling her that with him there, no one would be able to harm her in the slightest.
