Gu Liancheng returned to her seat, staring out the window in a daze, feeling as if her heart was tightly bound by fishing line, indescribably complex and chaotic.
Her hand holding the pencil paused on the design paper, and for over ten minutes, she hadn’t started to draw even a single curve.
"Sister Liancheng, do you think it’s okay to design it this way? Most rings use pure circles or arcs, but what if I combine these two elents and then make the ring square, wouldn’t it be particularly unique?"
A colleague had brought a newly drawn design sketch to show Gu Liancheng, but she didn’t react due to her unsettled mind.
Seeing this, the colleague waved a hand in front of her eyes and tentatively called out, "Sister Liancheng?"

The call connected, and Ye Jin’s voice ca through, "Hello, Liancheng? What’s up, do you need sothing?"
"Auntie." Gu Liancheng called out to her and then fell silent.
After a long while of hearing nothing else, Ye Jin asked, "What’s wrong? Did sothing happen?"
In response, Gu Liancheng softly said it was nothing, and after a quiet mont, she slowly began, "Auntie, didn’t you say that it was Xiao Yu who acquired Nan’an Chief? Why..."
She didn’t finish her sentence, but Ye Jin understood what she ant.
"Liancheng, I actually only found out about this myself this morning. I really didn’t expect that Xiao Yu would just readily give away a company worth billions to that woman."
"So you an, Xiao Yu might not co here to the office? Or say, he might not deal with Nan’an’s affairs at all in the future?"
Gu Liancheng was smiling, yet her voice could not hide the sense of loss. What she found amusing was the inability to pinpoint the source of this loss.
Ye Jin’s voice ca again, "Liancheng, don’t dwell on this for now. How about this, after you get off work, let’s go have a coffee together, and we can talk in detail then."
Gu Liancheng pursed her lips, "Mhm."
