Shi Yu gave Shen Cheng a cold glance and walked away.
Shen Cheng leaned against the wall, watching his receding figure with a smile blooming like a flower.
The maid, who had been silently standing by, finally ca over and carefully asked, "Young Madam, it’s ti for your prenatal checkup today, should I call Doctor Su to co over?"
Upon being reminded, Shen Cheng rembered the prenatal checkup appointnt.
As if thinking of sothing, she said "No need," and turned to go upstairs.
After changing her clothes and coming back down, she made a phone call to Shen Zhongming as she headed for the car in the parking lot.
"Hello."
"Girl, what made you think of calling Dad today?"
"Cut the chatter, I’m going to the hospital to see my brother, are you coming?"
"Ah! Girl, why didn’t you call Dad earlier? I just ca out of the hospital and am about to go to..."
"The gambling joint!" Shen Cheng ruthlessly cut him off.
Without waiting for Shen Zhongming’s response, she hung up the phone.
She got into the car, but just as she was about to start it, she rembered the doctor’s advice that it’s better not to drive during pregnancy, so she got out again.
She instructed the driver to bring another car to take her to the hospital.
In the car, she sent a text ssage to Ye Zi: "Do you want to accompany for the prenatal checkup?"
Less than a minute later, Ye Zi sent a text back: "Beauty... I’m still in bed, and uh, Qin Jin held all night and still won’t let go."
Reading the ssage, Shen Cheng quickly composed another text in reply: "Did you guys have sex?"
Ye Zi replied: "No no no! Beauty, you must believe , I am still as pure as jade!"
Shen Cheng: "I’m not doubting you, just asking."
Ye Zi: "Oh oh."
Ye Zi: "By the way, Beauty, last night, he said in three months he wants to sleep with , what should I do?"
Upon seeing this ssage, Shen Cheng couldn’t help but laugh and sent back: "Do you like him?"
On the other end, Ye Zi stared at her phone for a good while before texting back: "I like him."
Watching the ssage send successfully, her cheeks inexplicably heated up again.
Glancing at Qin Jin who was holding her tightly, her heartbeat started to race.
She took a deep breath and finally cald down a bit.
Then, a ssage ca in, just two words: "Love him?"
Love him?
Ye Zi replied: "I don’t know."
Shen Cheng: "Hmm, then don’t compromise."
Ye Zi: "I understand now Beauty..."
The car soon stopped outside the hospital, and the driver quickly got out to open the door for Shen Cheng.
Shen Cheng got out of the car, brushed so of her disheveled hair behind her ear, and walked slowly into the hospital.
In the ICU, Shen Mu was still quietly lying in bed, breathing steadily.
Shen Cheng pushed the door open and sat down beside the bed.
She propped her chin in her hand and leaned on the bed, looking at Shen Mu, and couldn’t help but smile.
"You’ve been sleeping for so long, aren’t you tired?"
"Do you know, you’re about to be an uncle."
"Didn’t you once say you’d teach my son to smoke, drink alcohol and date? You need to keep your promise."
"If you keep on sleeping like this, I won’t co to see you again..."
"Leaving you lying here alone!"
As Shen Cheng spoke, a nurse gently knocked on the room door, then a nurse’s voice followed: "Miss Shen, everything has been arranged for you, you can follow now for your prenatal checkup."
