"It’s nothing, it’s almost healed."
As Su Jiuyi spoke, she glanced at Qi Jingren, signaling him not to ntion her getting shot to Su Manning.
Even with just a glance, Qi Jingren understood her intention and did not say a word about her being shot.
The morning passed quickly, and to thank everyone for their help, Qi Jingren suggested having a BBQ on the balcony in the evening. To avoid dampening his spirits, Qin Shaobai volunteered to buy the ingredients.
Song Zhike had a sudden eting at his company and left early, while Su Manning seed a bit awkward without him, so she also found an excuse to leave, saying she’d co back in the evening.
With nothing to do, Su Jiuyi stayed to plant so pots with Qi Jingren. After leaving Cioas, she rarely chatted and gossiped with Qi Jingren, so they had endless things to talk about today.
"By the way, Jiuyi, how are things progressing with Shi Aoju?" Qi Jingren asked, watering the flowers.
"I guess it’s stable now. He doesn’t seem as unapproachable as before." Rembering how Shi Aoju held her in his arms all night, Su Jiuyi felt satisfied and loved.
"It seems you’ve lted the iceberg." Qi Jingren said, putting down the watering can and sitting on the windowsill. She pulled Su Jiuyi to sit next to her, continuing, "You can rest assured and be with him. I’ll find a chance to have my father cancel our engagent."
"Can it be canceled?"
Su Jiuyi felt things were not as simple as they seed, thinking that Qi Jingren and Shi Aoju’s engagent was likely a comrcial marriage, a decision made to solidify their families’ relations.
Like Su Manning and Song Zhike, neither liked the other, but they forced themselves to accept a marriage that might not work out. Despite being skeptical about marriage, they never went against their parents’ wishes, which is what a comrcial marriage is.
"Yes." Qi Jingren said, "My father is a reasonable person. Although he’s firm about this, I can persuade him to change his mind."
Qi Jingren knew her father well, understanding that although he spoke firmly and acted decisively, he was a principled person.
Su Jiuyi nodded, about to say sothing when Qi Jingren suddenly reached over and pinched her chin, lifting it up and looking at her with feigned seriousness, "Girl, I think it’s ti I tell you my true identity."
"Go ahead, I’m listening." Su Jiuyi cooperated, putting on an expression of "you’re teasing , but I’m enjoying it."
"Have you heard of Mo Jin?" Qi Jingren withdrew her hand, her expression finally turning serious.
"Mo Jin?" Su Jiuyi quickly searched her mory, and the na "Mo Jin" pointed to a person. She frowned and carefully asked, "Mr. President Mo Jin?"
"Yes." Qi Jingren smiled, "That’s him."
"When I was in college, teachers often talked about his achievents in front of us. I heard he beca President in his teens. Over the years, he’s done quite a bit for the country and is a leader worthy of respect." Su Jiuyi said that.
