Su Jiuyi’s smile froze on her face. She muttered an "oh," and then very consciously placed the popcorn on the empty seat beside her.
Probably sensing her disappointnt from her back, Shi Aoju spoke up, "Eating occasionally doesn’t have much of an impact."
It’s in a woman’s nature to eat, and Su Jiuyi’s nature to not only eat but also have a strong preference for sweets. She knows that eating sweets is a terrible habit, yet she just can’t control herself.
But today was strange; because of Shi Aoju’s words, she restrained her craving. After watching the entire movie, she didn’t even glance at the popcorn next to her.
After leaving the cinema, Qin Shaobai ca to pick up Qi Jingren, saying he wanted to take her to have a barbecue, and asked Shi Aoju if he wanted to join. Shi Aoju refused with the excuse, "I don’t eat junk food."
But Su Jiuyi was craving badly; back when she was working at Ciaos, she often went to eat street food with Qi Jingren. Sotis they would even drink a can or two of beer; although Su Jiuyi wasn’t great with alcohol and might get drunk, she would let loose with Qi Jingren, because every ti she did get drunk, Qi Jingren would figure out a way to get her ho.
She silently followed behind Shi Aoju, staring at her toes. Absorbed in thought, she didn’t notice that Shi Aoju had stopped in front of her, and walked straight into him without looking.
Shi Aoju was a head taller than Su Jiuyi, so her forehead happened to bump into his shoulder.
The collision brought Su Jiuyi back to reality. She rubbed her forehead and apologized, "Sorry, Young Master Jue, I just..."
"What do you want to eat?" Shi Aoju interrupted her directly.
Su Jiuyi was taken aback for a mont, then answered, "Anything’s fine."
Shi Aoju humd in response, grasped the door handle to open the car door, and then turned his head to look at Su Jiuyi behind him, gesturing for her to get in.
Understanding his cue, Su Jiuyi bent down and got into the car. Worried that Shi Aoju would buckle her seatbelt for her again, she imdiately reached for it to fasten it herself, but she was still a step too slow.
Shi Aoju leaned over, fastening the seatbelt for her as he said, "I’ll handle this in the future."
Su Jiuyi knew he was referring to the seatbelt, but she still found it hard to adapt. He had only started doing it since they left the amusent park earlier, which was when they had confird their relationship.
He was indeed a man of principle; before this, he had never done anything similar, which ant that perhaps subconsciously, he believed that a man buckling a woman’s seatbelt involved a premise of being together.
The warm breath on Su Jiuyi’s face made her feel a bit dazed, suddenly feeling like she was dreaming, it didn’t seem real. The beginning between them was ludicrous and laughable.
She originally thought that after that ti, there would be no further entanglent. Unexpectedly, they got involved due to so matters, and step by step, ca closer and got lost in each other’s world.
"Thank you, Young Master Jue." Su Jiuyi suddenly lifted her head to look at him. As their eyes t — those chilly eyes — she smiled, "Thank you for giving a sense of security, for making feel less alone."
For a mont, Shi Aoju’s gaze softened. He raised his hand to ruffle her hair, remained silent for a long ti, and then said, "Where I am is your ho."
Su Jiuyi bit her lip and nodded, her eyes suddenly brimd with tears, as if a surge of warmth was about to overflow.
