At this mont, the scene she saw last night suddenly appeared in front of her eyes. Facing a man with such a strong presence, Su Jiuyi didn’t know where she got the strength, but she pushed him away with force.
"What does it have to do with you!"
She seed not to quite understand her anger at this mont, as if subconsciously wanting to distance herself from him. Not only her, but even Shi Aoju was frozen by her sudden action, all expressions halted.
Instantly, the atmosphere in the entire restaurant shifted from ambiguous coldness to awkwardness.
Su Jiuyi bit her lower lip tightly as she looked at Shi Aoju. The longing and frustration pent up in her heart these days all surged up, yet he looked at her with a face full of confusion, as if once again seeing her defiance from the first eting.
The two remained silent in their standoff until Quan Xin’s appearance broke the deathly stillness.
"What’s going on, Jin?" Quan Xin flicked her freshly curled hair, her pungent perfu scent spreading throughout the restaurant.
Shi Aoju withdrew his gaze from Su Jiuyi’s face, turning towards Quan Xin. She walked over and affectionately hooked her arm around his.
"Just washed your hair? Why not blow dry it." Quan Xin looked up at Shi Aoju, reaching out to tidy his hair over his forehead. Shi Aoju slightly frowned, showing so displeasure, but said nothing further.
Su Jiuyi felt very redundant here, awkwardly straightening up, her hand inadvertently hitting the plate on the table, producing a crisp sound. It was at this point that Quan Xin seed to notice her.
"Why are you still here?" Implicitly issuing a "leave order" to Su Jiuyi.
Su Jiuyi’s tightly bitten lips gradually turned pale. She turned around, picked up the plate from the table, and swiftly fled without looking into Shi Aoju’s eyes.
To her, Shi Aoju’s deep eyes seed like a swamp, entrapping anyone who ventured inside.
She didn’t know how she managed to escape, the overwhelming heat in her eye sockets almost uncontrollable.
She didn’t know how much ti had passed. The ringing of the phone pulled her wandering thoughts back to reality.
It was Ye Han calling.
It dawned on her that she got up early today to go out with Ye Han.
Sliding open the phone’s answer button, the sounds of hustle and bustle erged from the receiver’s end; it seed Ye Han had already arrived at the agreed place.
Su Jiuyi subconsciously glanced at the ti, realizing she was already nearly half an hour late.
"Are you okay?" Ye Han’s voice ca through the cold earpiece, carrying so concern.
"Ah, sorry, I’m fine." Su Jiuyi smacked her forehead and briskly walked towards the door, "Sothing at ho held up."
"Is it still convenient for you to co out? If it’s important at ho, we can reschedule."
"No, no, it’s okay," she quickly apologized, "It’s just my own issue. I’ll head over imdiately, sorry for the wait."
Although the butler was absent, the bodyguards Su Jiuyi frequently interacted with were still steadfastly on duty. Seeing her jog over, they imdiately opened the car door and said respectfully, "Miss Su, please."
Such considerate service made Su Jiuyi feel a bit overwheld.
"Be careful, don’t rush." Ye Han’s voice ca through.
"Alright, I’ll hang up now." Su Jiuyi hurriedly got into the back seat and turned off the phone.
Still at the place where they last t, Ye Han this ti dressed more formally compared to last ti’s casual style.
