"It’s getting late, you should go to bed early. You’ve had a long day." She glanced at the night sky, where the layers of thick fog had long since dissipated. The moon peeked out from the horizon, its lazy moonlight spilling over the garden, and Ao Jue’s handso face appeared before her, half obscured.

"Quan Xin has a really bad temper. If I’m not ho, no one can handle her." He said softly, "If she gives you trouble tomorrow, rember to call ."

Su Jiuyi lowered her head thoughtfully, without saying a word.

"Why have you been so nice to lately?"

Behind her, the dim street lamps flickered. Her voice softly echoed through the deserted street, with a hoarse nasal tone that seed to travel through thick, endless ti.

Hearing this, Ao Jue’s heart felt as if it was being wound by an invisible thread, drawing him step by step closer to her, tightening inch by inch.

In that instant, even the surrounding insect sounds seed to quiet down, and ti seed to pause montarily.

Su Jiuyi always felt that after their mountain climbing experience, their relationship had beco even more unclear than before. She always had so questions in her heart. These thoughts were like a tangled skein of thread that, although seemingly uncomplicated, she could never find the end of.

After a long silence, Ao Jue suddenly laughed.

It wasn’t the usual breezy smile he would show, but a genuine one from the heart.

"Go to sleep."

He left that remark casually, and by the ti Su Jiuyi realized it, he had already reached the entrance of the hall.

Leaving Su Jiuyi standing there, sowhat bewildered.

The next morning, Su Jiuyi got up early, feeling refreshed as she reported to the staff, her diligence surprising even the housekeeper, who thought she must have experienced so kind of shock.

"Su Jiuyi, are you... running a fever again?" The housekeeper said, placing the back of her hand on Su Jiuyi’s forehead to test her temperature.

"No, I’m not." Su Jiuyi raised her hand to push the housekeeper’s hand away, and upon seeing the housekeeper’s concerned eyes, she burst into laughter.

What a cute old witch.

She pretended to help Chen Qian, following her into the dining room.

She didn’t see Ao Jue, he seed to have left early again. She wondered if he had breakfast before heading out.

Quan Xin spent a full half-hour doing her makeup before coming downstairs. During this ti, a brave person went up to remind her that the milk should be drunk while hot, only to face her foul temper and be scolded harshly.

After last night’s and this morning’s incidents, it seed no one dared to provoke her anymore. She was like a tender flower in a greenhouse, not even bothering to acknowledge those of lower status than her.

When she ca down to dine, everyone realized that all those behaviors she showed in front of Ao Jue yesterday were just for show. Now that Ao Jue wasn’t around in the morning, she naturally revealed her picky nature.

"Where did you find the chefs here? Even a simple egg is cooked terribly."

"The milk isn’t defrosted and lted again, is it? I’ve asked for genuine milk."

"Last night, in front of Jue, I was too embarrassed to say sothing about you all. Is that food fit for humans? Bring your head chef to ."

A barrage of complaints made the servants under Ao Jue feel their heads swell twofold, wondering where this kind of ancestor ca from.
