Chapter 187 – 149: Who Says Humanity Has No Great Emperor, the T0 Version is Terrifying as Such_2
On the internet, the six abstract arts crumbled before money, showing just how fragile they were. No matter how foul the mouth, it couldn’t withstand soone getting serious: smashing money offline, aiming for reality.
The mont they saw the descendants of the fierce clan, the trolls online couldn’t hold it together anymore. This guy mustn’t be so innate cyber-police deity, right? Just slaughtering left and right!
“Hahaha, Brother Xu is too good!” Zhou Lili laughed until she was numb, disheveled as she scrolled through videos and comnts, thoroughly enjoying herself as she slipped out of her room.
“Mom, I’m hungry!”
In less than a day, Xu Qingyan had turned the tide.
Had it not been for the intervention of the show’s production team, he probably wouldn’t have pursued it. But now that they had entered the fray, he rolled up his sleeves and took on the keyboard warriors.
Without exception, anyone involved in spreading rumors and insults received a direct lawyer’s letter warning.
You Zijun followed suit with a lawyer’s letter. Chen Feiyu and Liu Renzhi kept silent and played dead, while Bai Jinze hadn’t made a peep since leaving the romance show.
The production team also exerted significant efforts; the normally troubleso evidence collection and appeals process went unexpectedly smooth with lawyers paid to push it forward.
Without even filing a lawsuit, a swath of the internet’s “filial sons” collapsed to their knees.
The incident was quelled within a re day, and there was even a person who, drunk, boasted to soone that he was behind it. He elaborated the details vividly, but his friend recorded it and sold the evidence to Xu Qingyan.
Xu Qingyan sent it to the production team, and they promptly called the police to make an arrest. Unfortunately, the man was all talk, repeating hearsay; after being brought in, he was warned and let go following education.
Muchan Studio, second floor.
“I only saw your post today, did you really spend three hundred thousand on a legal team?” Pei Muchan asked curiously, her eyes slightly narrowed, appearing slender and seductive.
She was dressed casually today, with the office air conditioning on, so she habitually draped a coffee-colored knitted coat over herself. A white lining wrapped her full curves, tracing down exaggerated lines.
The black jeans hugged her ample hips, leading down to her slender and well-proportioned calves.
“How could that be, the screenshot was from the production team, I just borrowed it.” Xu Qingyan moved a chair to lean against it, sitting by the window, bathing in the sunlight that covered his shoulders.
He fiddled with a draft of the composition in his hand, yawning lazily.
He had to fly to Jianye tomorrow. Staying up late to battle it out online looked cool, but the sight of him getting up early to take Boss Pei to work was a complete ss.
It was like a little bee touching an electric fence, totally buzzed out.
“They let you use it?”
“What’s the big deal? The production team did hire a lawyer, that’s a fact,” Xu Qingyan rubbed the sleepy tears from the corners of his eyes and stretched languidly.
“But think about it, such a big production team must maintain a certain stature; they would never do sothing like slapping a screenshot like I did. So it conveniently benefited , and I got it with just a phone call to Director Chen.”
“You really are quite the sly one,” Pei Muchan covered her mouth and laughed for a while, “I thought you really spent the money. Even a down paynt would have eaten up all your earnings.”
“That’s called being clever. How could I possibly spend my hard-earned money on those trolls,” Xu Qingyan pulled at his mouth corner, “Anyway… this round, I bluffed them.”
Hearing this, Pei Muchan’s gaze paused, and she frowned.
“They’ve already started the lawsuit process though, are you going to stay in Xinghai to continue consolidating evidence? Could it be… that you’ll have to cancel the trip to Jianye tomorrow?”
“How could that be possible, that’d be such a waste of ti. Actually, I wasn’t expecting any particular outco,” Xu Qingyan said offhandedly, “Posting was just convenient, making money is more important.”
“Besides, I wasn’t the one serious about pursuing it, just stirring things up a bit to scare those bastards. This storm will pass with more thunder than rain, let the production team handle it.”
In the afternoon.
“I have to fly to Jianye tomorrow, so I’m going to head ho and pack up, I’ll take off first.” Pei Muchan greeted him and went downstairs to drive off early on her own.
Xu Qingyan had not been in Xinghai for long, and his rented apartnt was new with very little to pack. Just a few clothes, a suitcase in tow, ready to go at any ti.
He had never been on a plane before, so he never expected that his first ti would be thanks to a TV show’s generosity.
Because of this, he had even asked Qi Ting indirectly, and sure enough, her expenses were also reimbursed by the production team. The thought of getting a free ride made him even more excited.
Under the sunlight, the vast second-floor office was left with only Xu Qingyan.
He scrolled through posts about flying experiences, but soon lost interest without Pei Muchan around. Being in the large office felt aningless, so he got up, left, and plunged into the arrangent room.
When he looked up again, it was already dark. He leaned back in his chair in the arrangent room and ticulously checked the scores on his computer screen. His manuscript was set aside, a little habit.
Maybe it was due to his recent workload, but his ability to transcribe music had improved by leaps and bounds.
Transcribing scores wasn’t a challenge for him now, except for the unusable “An He Qiao,” he had gathered a few more songs as backups for the competition.
Unbeknownst to him, he had beco the lyricist and composer closely associated with a pop diva.
Xu Qingyan tilted his head back, the chair gently swaying as he stared at the ceiling above, lost in thought.
Not every song he transcribed was suitable for the two of them, having scrapped one “An He Qiao” last ti. He didn’t know which one would be next… the more he accumulated, the greater the number.
Although it was a business without capital, he couldn’t just sit on these songs forever. He definitely couldn’t sing all of them, and he had no intention of becoming a singer.
If it could be sung, then sing it. If not, or if singing it wouldn’t make money, then find soone to sell it to, as long as the price was right.
His phone suddenly rang, interrupting his thoughts.
Glancing down, he saw it was his mother calling, and Xu Qingyan couldn’t help but pause. He typically made two video calls a week, and the last call had been just two days ago.
His mother was recovering well, with his second and third aunts taking turns caring for her, and his second uncle had a car, making it convenient to go to the hospital for checkups.
He had recently made so money and tried to transfer it to his second and third uncles, but they refused to accept it, which was a headache for Xu Qingyan. The money had to be given; he just thought of thanking them in person during the New Year.
“Mom, what’s up?” his voice was a bit dry, fearing sothing had happened.
“It’s nothing, just calling to see how you’re doing,” Zhang Hongi said cautiously, spreading so family news, which only made Xu Qingyan more anxious.
“Mom, if there’s nothing wrong, scold a bit,” he coughed, “The way you’re talking makes feel like sothing bad has happened, it’s really unsettling.”
“Nonsense, what could possibly happen? Everything’s fine at ho,” Ms. Zhang Hongi has always disliked inauspicious words and wondered how she gave birth to a son who couldn’t hold his tongue.
“Well, if nothing’s wrong, then out with it. I can manage over here,” he said.
“Didn’t you transfer so money to last ti? I’ve used it to nd the house, and there’s still quite a bit left. I tried sending it back to you but you didn’t accept it,” Zhang Hongi rambled on.
“Of course I won’t accept it. Mom, I’ll take a screenshot for you. Otherwise, you might think your son is broke. I have tens of thousands in my hands right now, just made a hundred thousand a couple of days ago.”
“I know you’ve made so money, but don’t go wasting it, you hear? Don’t learn bad habits from others, hanging out at bars and nightclubs all the ti.”
“How could I? Your son is well-behaved,” Xu Qingyan laughed, “Mom, where did you learn all those trendy terms from, even knowing about nightclubs?”
“Heh, you think I don’t watch TV?” Ms. Zhang Hongi finished advising her son, then suddenly as if rembering sothing important, “It’s all your fault for blabbering non-stop, almost got dizzy.”
“Do you rember your Uncle Lai?” she asked.
“I rember, what about him?” visions of a hearty, middle-aged man surfaced in Xu Qingyan’s mind.
Uncle Lai, he heard, was a widowed calligrapher related to his mother’s side of the family. Not exactly relatives, but they had interacted before, and he once gave Xu Qingyan a set of expensive calligraphy tools.
Unfortunately, it was a short-lived interest, and later on, he sold off the set on Xianyu to make so money.
“He passed away two years ago, leaving behind a daughter. Her relatives on their side don’t treat her well, won’t let her attend university. I was thinking, since we have the ans, we might as well lend a hand to that girl.”
