Liyah Myers walked to Rowena Myers and put down two glasses of wine she had poured from the cello. She sat across her cousin and looked at her suspiciously.
Rowena Myers always hated D-City because of her bad childhood experience of drowning in the Myers' swimming pool.
Liyah Myers and Rowena Myers had never liked each other since they were kids, both being cunning fought often for attention from their grandmother, and almost everything else.
Six years ago, after their graduation, Rowena Myers decided to reside in Country M and pursue an acting career. But, now she was back and Liyah Myers didn't know the reason that brought her back but she wasn't that thrilled about her arrival.
To Liyah Myers, Rowena Myers was a shrewd woman who could really act and make any other person look bad. Back then, when they were in the university with Aaron Saint and Kash France. Rowena Myers tried to seduce Aaron Saint but didn't succeed because Aaron never looked at her.
When Rowena Myers found out about Aaron Saint and Liyah's relationship she left out of anger and they never heard of her again apart from when she hit it big and beca popular.
Rowena Myers lifted the glass and looked at the wine as she spoke "how old is this wine? I only drink wine that has being allowed to age well".
Liyah Myers furrowed her brows and smiled sarcastically without a word. Rowena Myers ca purposely to rile her up and Liyah Myers wasn't going to allow her to have the last laugh either.
It could be said that, these two won really knew how to get into each other's skin. Their words always hid anings behind it. They were both smart and knew just how to use it to their advantage.
"Cousin, I've being here for a day or two now, but, you never gave a call. Are you still angry with ?" Rowena Myers said as she sipped the wine.
"You are the one who ca back after so long, you didn't even tell you were coming back?" Liyah Myers asked back.
"Right, I'm sorry. I was so busy that I forgot of you" Rowena Myers gave a faint smile.
"So, cousin, you're back this ti for good?" Liyah Myers asked her cousin.
"Maybe, if I achieve my aim!!" Rowena Myers said amusingly.
"Your aim? What could that be?" Liyah asked suspiciously.
"Well, you will find out later so I might as well spill the beans before you hear it from outside. Grandma will be coming back next week and she plans to create an alliance with the Saint family through marriage". Rowena Myers said and studied the expression of the forr.
Liyah's grip on her glass tightened and Rowena noticed it and felt satisfied.
"Marriage? No way, are you?" Liyah Myers said subconsciously.
"Yes, with Aaron Saint. I am still in love with him cousin. He is single now isn't it? Since you left him for Josh Saint, his cousin" Rowena Myers said, her words purposely haste. Liyah Myers chuckled and shook her head. "Why? Am I wrong? Didn't you cheat on him and slept with Josh Saint? Cousin, I guess I really underestimated you. I always thought I was the bitch, but, wow, your nastiness is on another level. To think you would actually leave a diamond for a stone? I really don't know whether to call you stupid or wise... or maybe I should pity you because you're about to lose every single thing that is dear to you to "
Liyah stood up and looked at her coldly as she spoke "Rowena Myers, mind the way you speak to . Don't you dare criticise . Anyone can but you, you don't have the right to even look at with disgust. You know why? Because, you were not after Aaron Saint with the best intentions either. If you ca today to rile up, congratulations, you just succeeded, but guess what, I am still Liyah Myers. And you will only always co second place to . You think getting into the Saint family is that easy? Then even beggars would have joined their table a long ti ago".
Rowena Myers stood up to face Liyah Myers as she spoke "things have changed, Liyah Myers. Are you still blind? Can't you even tell by the way grandma treats you? You can't hold the cradle against . Grandma grood you so that you could get into the Saint family for the greater purpose but you failed. The mont you decided to leave Aaron Saint for his brother was the mont grandma lost trust in you. All these years you thought grandma was simply angry with you, right?"
Liyah Myers looked at her with a shocked expression. All the revelations today weren't sothing she was ready for. She knew her grandma had a purpose for forcing her to get into a relationship with Aaron Saint back then but she had no idea what exactly the reason was.
Liyah Myers was scared of their grandma because she was a sinister woman who only kept people around her as long as they were beneficial to her. Part of the reason why she did what she did to Aaron Saint was because she was scared of her grandma's agenda. Liyah Myers knew in her heart that whatever reasons their grandma had, they were not good.
Aaron Saint treated her so well, how could she allow her sinister old woman destroy that man? Liyah Myers also happened to fall for Josh Saint because of his bad boy aura which she sotis blad herself for being superficial.
But, now, Rowena Myers was saying sothing else. Sothing she never thought far about. Their grandma really did have a hidden agenda for wanting to create an alliance with the Saint family.
Rowena Myers walked slowly closer to Liyah feeling satisfied with the way she looked helpless, confused and defenceless right now "actually, all this information is classified. Take it as my last gift to you since we share the sa last na and just maybe, we could beco sisters in law" Rowena Myers blew so air into Liyah Myers' ears and laughed.
She had thought of ways to bring Liyah Myers down but Liyah Myers was smart and always got out of her well laid plans. The mont she ssed up by breaking it off with Aaron Saint and getting together with Josh Saint was just the opportunity she needed.
Rowena Myers took that chance to get closer to their grandma and gained her trust. Their grandma always favoured Liyah Myers but ever since she ssed up five years ago, their grandma wasn't able to forgive her.
Rowena Myers just had to say a few words, get a few pictures for their grandma to see and that was how she managed to gain the old woman's trust.
Now, with the old woman behind her, she was able to get into the entertainnt industry and have successful beco an A-list actress.
She had used so many tricks to kick out a lot of competitors and bribed a lot of people to be on her side. Now that she was strong and well-grounded she decided to return back to D-City to take away everything that belonged to Liyah Myers.
She would never rest until she could have Liyah Myers begging at her feet for rcy.
Surely, revenged was a dish best served cold. Rowena Myers had felt gratification from seeing how ssed up Liyah's mind was now, decided not to poke her any further and smiled saying ''big cousin, I liked the wine. See you another ti''.
Liyah Myers slumped back into the chair the mont Rowena Myers left. Liyah Myers never thought she would ever be at the rcy of Rowena Myers. It looked like, if she didn't get her act together, Rowena Myers will indeed take away everything she had worked hard to earn.
Fashion Lyah was her parents sweat and the reason for the wealth of the Myers family. Her mother was a famous designer and had designed so many things that sold out. Through her mother's directions, Liyah Myers was able to successful take over Fashion Lyah and turned it into what it was today.
If Rowena Myers and the old woman had their eyes on her mother's company, Liyah was going to fight with them till the end even if it ant she died in the process.
Rowena Myers really succeeded in shaking her up today but it was a wake-up call that she was grateful for. Now, she knew the old woman didn't favour her anymore and was only bearing with her because of Fashion Lyah.
Actually, Liyah Myers was grateful to Rowena Myers. Rowena Myers was smart but she could also be careless with her words. Today, Liyah Myers was sure everything Rowena Myers told her was to be kept a secret but because she wanted to shake Liyah Myers up she spilt the beans. It was such a blessing in disguise.
