Fu Weiheng was a bit surprised, paused for a mont, then smiled joyfully and pulled her into the elevator.
Magic is a high-end club that integrates dining and entertainnt, with the restaurant located on the sixth floor, a mbers-only fine dining place.
With a "ding" sound, the elevator arrived. As soon as the two of them stepped out, the receptionist at the bar approached, smiling and calling out, "Mr. Fu."
Fu Weiheng: "To a private room."
"This way, please."
It was Su Wan’s first ti at such a high-end restaurant; she felt a bit overwheld by the formal environnt. Hesitating at the restaurant entrance, she squeezed Fu Weiheng’s hand, "Neil, maybe we should go sowhere else?"
Fu Weiheng pondered for a mont, then softly said, "I have money."
Su Wan: "..."
She absolutely didn’t an to underestimate your financial state...
Entering the private room, Fu Weiheng pulled out the chair for her first. Su Wan glanced at it, then walked over and sat down quickly.
"This club is owned by Ivan Company." He sat across from her, skillfully unfolding the napkin and placing it partly over the edge of the table, "Endless Group holds forty percent of the shares in it, also making it a stakeholder."
Su Wan was slightly stunned, only then realizing he was explaining what he ant by "having money."
Before she could think of how to respond, he added, "I value first dates. However, if you don’t like it, we won’t co here next ti."
Su Wan remained silent, suddenly recalling their trip to the amusent park last ti, when he, despite his acrophobia, willingly accompanied her on the roller coaster. Afterward, he was bedridden for a week from the fright, yet he rely called it a challenge to himself.
He seed to always accommodate her.
Su Wan was a little puzzled, blurted out, "Do you like that much?"
He appeared respectful, his gaze burning, "Yes, very much."
Su Wan was taken aback.
When it ca to feelings, for her, it was simply four words: Let nature take its course.
She had never fantasized about her other half.
eting Fu Weiheng was an unexpected event in her life.
At this mont, what was originally just a joking sentence from her beca a sincere and touching confession.
A knock on the door brought Su Wan back to her senses, making her shyly pick up the cup and look elsewhere.
The dishes began to arrive one after another. After the waiter closed the door to the private room, Su Wan asked again, "Uh, have you and your forr girlfriends..."
"I never had a girlfriend." He interrupted, "Su Wan, before I t you, I never planned on being in a relationship."
The afternoon sunlight softly draped over the dining table through the window. In the man’s deep eyes resided a warm gloss, under the sun’s reflection, surprisingly making Su Wan feel particularly warm, "But we’ve only known each other for less than three months..."
Fu Weiheng: "It’s been four years."
Su Wan was astonished. She couldn’t recall ever eting such an extraordinary man...
"Four years ago, at London Park. I heard your ’Amazing Grace.’
Su Wan was dumbfounded, recalling the recent event at the park near the old house where he asked her to play ’Amazing Grace`.
He continued with a smile, "It’s a pity I didn’t have the chance to walk up to you before you left."
Unexpectedly, a mont of hesitation led to four years of longing.
Su Wan bit her lip, feeling a bit embarrassed, "Well, Mr. Fu, I was eighteen four years ago, just becoming an adult; not necessarily available for early romance..."
Fu Weiheng: "..."
After the al, they got up to leave the private room, and after taking a few steps, they ran into an acquaintance in the hall.
Jiang Zhiyan saw the two of them holding hands from afar, approached them, and smiled with an implication: "Congratulations to both of you."
Su Wan shyly released her hand and hid it behind her back.
Fu Weiheng lifted his eyelids to glance at him: "Been quite free lately?"
Jiang Zhiyan raised his eyebrows gently, "Except for quite a few classes at school, I’m fine."
Fu Weiheng lowered his hand to hold Su Wan’s hand again, expressionless: "We’re busy, make yourself at ho."
"..."
Watching their departing backs, Jiang Zhiyan felt both annoyed and amused, then turned and walked towards the private room.
"Lawyer Jiang!"
The call ca so suddenly, Jiang Zhiyan turned back out of reflex, found Su Wan standing behind him alone, and was surprised, then walked to her, "What?"
Su Wan smiled, "Lawyer Jiang, thank you for last ti."
Jiang Zhiyan waved it off indifferently, "It was nothing, really."
Su Wan’s smile remained, "Next ti, when there’s a chance, I’ll treat you to dinner with my friends."
Jiang Zhiyan glanced towards Fu Weiheng standing by the elevator at a distance, and replied with a smile, "No need for dinner, let’s call it even for the water you helped buy last ti."
Su Wan exclaid in surprise, "Ah, that was such a small thing..."
"Since they’re all small things, let’s call it even," Jiang Zhiyan said, "You should go, Neil is waiting."
Thus, Su Wan didn’t insist further, thinking there would be more opportunities in the future, she sincerely thanked him again, "Really, thank you, Lawyer Jiang. I’ll leave now, goodbye."
Jiang Zhiyan nodded, his thoughts inadvertently drifting far away.
Sowhere, he seed to have heard such a voice before.
"Really, thank you, Mr. Jiang, thank you."
Suddenly, a voice soft yet with a crying tone erged in his mind, Jiang Zhiyan furrowed his brows, unintentionally recalling an old incident.
That was six years ago in the winter, he happened to be staying at his aunt’s ho in London. On that day, large snowflakes were falling, the outside was blanketed in snow, and the temperature plumted. In the afternoon, being ho alone, he received a transoceanic call from ho.
A girl’s muffled voice ca from the other side, "Hello, may I ask... is Ms. Jiang Yun there?"
Jiang Zhiyan was montarily stunned, replied, "She’s out on so business."
A pause from the other side, "May I ask who you are?"
Jiang Zhiyan: "My surna is Jiang."
The girl’s tone was sincere, "Mr. Jiang, could you please convey a ssage on my behalf?"
Jiang Zhiyan pondered for a while, then agreed, "I can."
The ticking of the clock on the wall echoed, its sharp sound strikingly out of place in the vast house, making the breathing over the phone sound especially heavy and oppressive.
"Please tell her," the girl began slowly, her voice thick with nasal tones, as though crying, "please, no, I beg her, to co see my father, please."
The bitter and helpless pleading made Jiang Zhiyan’s heart sink, "I understand."
"Really, thank you, Mr. Jiang, thank you," she sobbed, repeatedly expressing her gratitude.
"What’s your na, so I can relay it?"
But there was a silence on the other end, lengthening without an answer.
Jiang Zhiyan waited for a long ti before asking again, "What’s your na?"
"Su Wan," she said, "Su as in ’recover,’ Wan as in ’mirthful.’
