Su Wan furrowed her brows and glanced at the man beside her who didn’t show any change in expression. She found it hard to grasp his emotions and thoughts at that mont. After a pause of a few seconds, she blurted out, "The card! He...gave a platinum card."

Upon hearing this, Fu Weiheng gave her a surprised look, but his lips twitched slightly in a subtle manner.

Qin Yan snorted coldly, "Perfunctory."

Su Wan: "..."

After dinner, Fu Weiheng and Su Wan went to the concert hall early to prepare for the rehearsal of tonight’s concert.

During this ti, Jiang Yun gave her a call—

"Wanwan, are you rehearsing?"

Su Wan was on a break during the rehearsal, so she took a sip of mineral water, "Yeah."

Jiang Yun chuckled, "It’s your birthday today, Mom will co earlier tonight to bring you a red egg."

"Thank you, Mom." Su Wan picked at the hole in her jeans, her voice gentle, "And thank you for your hard work."

"It’s no trouble." Jiang Yun paused, "Are your aunt and the others coming?"

Su Wan: "Yes, they’re here."

Jiang Yun: "Then I won’t disturb your practice. Let’s have dinner with your aunt and uncle after your concert."

"Alright."

After hanging up, she saw several WeChat ssages on her phone screen and clicked on them—

[Jinjin’s Chengyang: Wanwan!! Happy Birthday!!!]

[Jinjin’s Chengyang: Wishing your concert a great success!!]

The ssages were sent an hour ago.

[Swan: Thank you (heart)]

After the ssage was sent, another notification popped up in the group.

It was a picture sent by Qin Mu—a photo of her with Yao Ye.

[Mumu Baby: Hanging out with Sister Yao]

Su Wan smiled and looked at it for a couple of seconds. Just as she couldn’t reply, Fu Weiheng ca in from outside to remind her that the break was over, so Su Wan quickly put down her phone and went out with him.

——

An hour before the performance in the evening.

Su Wan changed into a bright red strapless gown, with a tulle train; the dazzling red dress made her skin look smooth and delicate as jade. Her long, shiny black hair was tied up in a high ponytail today, revealing her exquisitely pretty face. To complent the red dress, the makeup artist had applied bright red lipstick, making her exceptionally vibrant and appealing.

Fu Weiheng entered the dressing room and saw her propping up her chin in a daze. He approached her slowly and said softly, "Nervous again?"

Su Wan was startled and turned to look at him, her pitch-black bright eyes reflected a gentle and soft gaze. She shook her head, "Not nervous anymore."

This was the truth because after preparing for so long, she was already quite confident in the piece.

Fu Weiheng was relieved and continued, "Mom and Dad, and Grandpa are here..."

Su Wan: "Are they outside?"

Fu Weiheng: "Mm."

"I’ll go say hello..." Su Wan said as she made to get up.

Fu Weiheng raised a hand to stop her and from behind, brought out a lunchbox, "They’re chatting with your family, and Mom sent so red eggs for you. She asked to bring them over."

Our mom...

Su Wan looked at the bunch of bright red eggs, her face flushed as she took one out and peeled it, then offered it to him, "Want a bite?"

He glanced at the red egg in her hand, then leaned in wanting to kiss her, but Su Wan instinctively turned her head to avoid it, reminding him in a soft voice, "Lipstick..."

Fu Weiheng chuckled, then moved his lips to nibble gently on her earlobe, his voice low and deep, "Wanwan, happy birthday."

At 7:30, the performance officially began.

All the audience mbers had taken their seats early, and the orchestra mbers, including Fu Weiheng as the concertmaster, were already on stage. The lights in the house dimd and changed, then there were three chis. The conductor strode onto the stage, turning to introduce the main perforr of the concert.

Applause erupted, and Su Wan stood behind the safety door. Holding her cello and bow, she took a deep breath and gracefully stepped onto the stage.

According to the protocol, she first bowed to the audience, then turned to shake hands cordially with the concertmaster and the conductor, before sitting down at the bench beside the conductor’s podium, placing the cello peg into the non-slip pad.

In the audience, Yao Ye, sitting next to Qin Mu’s family, was too excited for words. She tugged at Qin Mu’s sleeve, whispering through gritted teeth, "Oh my God, Mumu, your sister is stunning beyond words!"

Qin Mu stomped her foot in excitent, "She’s truly stunning, and her brother-in-law sitting behind her, he’s incredibly handso too, a perfect match!"

Yao Ye: "Yeah, yeah, yeah!"

Qin Yan cast a slow glance at the two beside him, "Idiots."

Qin Mu: "..."

Yao Ye: "..."

With everything prepared, the conductor lowered his baton, and Su Wan imdiately began to play the main the of Shostakovich’s "Cello Concerto No. 1," starting softly and gradually growing stronger.

The piece overall is somber and filled with struggle, often recorded by different cellists, its charm enduring over ti. The shifting thes are distinctly felt throughout the composition. After this period of practice, Su Wan had mastered both the performance and emotional expression of each movent extrely well.
