"What did you say?"

The deep voice suddenly rang out, and Wanwan was montarily taken aback. She feigned calmness and smiled slightly, "Uh... I was asking what you want to eat?"

He replied, "I'm fine with whatever you choose."

Wanwan: "...Oh."

The car descended the overpass, and Fu Weiheng's phone rang again, breaking the silence.

When the call connected, he gently placed the phone to his ear without speaking. The other end must have said sothing because Wanwan noticed his brow furrowing deeper and his expression becoming displeased.

She suddenly rembered that when she sent the invitation, she hadn't even asked if he was free before asking him out for dinner...

So, after he hung up, she proactively spoke up and said, "Mr. Fu, I just rembered I have sothing to attend to. Could you drop off ahead, please?"

Fu Weiheng paused for a mont and said, "I'm sorry."

Wanwan quickly waved her hand, "No, no, I should apologize. I invited you to dinner without checking if you're available..."

Before getting out of the car, Fu Weiheng, with a slightly displeased look on his handso face but still a gentle tone, said, "Let's arrange it next ti."

"...Okay."

Despite agreeing verbally, Wanwan thought that Fu, the Great God, was probably quite forgetful and would likely forget about this by tonight. So she didn't dwell on it further and leisurely walked back to the school with her instrunt.

Looking through the rearview mirror at her distant silhouette, Fu Weiheng deftly turned the car and drove onto the overpass heading towards the airport.

There's a distance from the city center to the airport, but it's not too far. By the ti Fu Weiheng arrived at the airport, it was getting late, with only a faint glow of twilight left in the sky.

Jiang Zhiyan exited the arrival gate slowly, dragging his luggage. His tall and handso figure was especially striking under the bright lights of the airport hall.

After Jiang Zhiyan got into the car, Fu Weiheng remained expressionless, not even lifting an eyelid, and drove towards the airport expressway without saying a word.

Jiang Zhiyan noticed and softly clicked his tongue, squinting his long, ink-black eyes, "Did I interrupt your date, making you act so awkward?"

Fu Weiheng cast a glance at him, his tone icy, "If you don't want to be packaged and sent to the Jiang Mansion, just shut up."

The Fu and Jiang families have been close friends for generations. Their grandfathers fought together in the business world in their youth, creating many glorious achievents and forging a strong friendship. Fu and Jiang also grew up together in the United States, considered childhood friends.

The purpose of Jiang Zhiyan's return to the country this ti was for personal matters, and he naturally didn't inform the Jiang family before achieving results, not wishing to make it public. Yet Fu Weiheng caught him because of this. So, raising an eyebrow, Jiang Zhiyan wisely chose to remain silent.

Wanwan returned to the dormitory at almost six. Upon entering, she saw Xu Chengyang lounging with his legs crossed, resting his chin on his hand, and staring intently at the translation subtitles that were jumping across the computer screen.

"Where's Yao Yao?" Wanwan set down her instrunt and walked to the water dispenser to get a cup of water.

"Wanwan!" Mr. Xu realized belatedly, "You're back?"

"...Been back for a little while."

"Yao Yao went to the library. She's preparing for her postgrad exams." Xu Chengyang paused the computer screen and jumped off the chair, pulling Wanwan's hand towards the door, "Co on, co on, hurry up and eat. If you didn't co back soon, I would've beco an immortal with all my chanting!"

Wanwan: "..."

Before leaving, Wanwan called Yao Ye, and the three of them decided to go to a little noodle shop near the school.

By the ti they reached the noodle shop, Yao Ye was already waiting there to order. Both Yao Ye and Wanwan ordered a bowl of vegetable pork noodle each, while Xu Chengyang boldly ordered a large beef noodle with two pieces of dried tofu, a marinated egg, and a drumstick...

So Yao Ye said, "Are you a pig..."

Xu Chengyang snorted, "What do you know? It's better to be stuffed than starved!"

Wanwan: "..."

Yao Ye: "Wanwan, didn't you have an interview today? How did it go?"

Wanwan: "Mm, I passed. I can start the internship after the National Day holiday."

"My Wanwan is aweso!" Xu Chengyang said gallantly, waving his small hand, "The day after tomorrow is the first of October. Yao Ye! To celebrate Wanwan's official employnt and to welco the National Day holiday! Tomorrow night, let's feast at Yipinxuan! You book the table!"

Yao Ye pointed at the drumstick in Xu Chengyang's bowl with her chopsticks, disdaining, "Haven't you been feasting enough?"

Wanwan paused for a second, "I haven't been confird yet..."

Mr. Xu interrupted solemnly, "So what if you haven't been confird! And besides, how can we be casual about the country's birthday!"

Yao Ye: "..."

Wanwan: "Well, I have to teach Fanfan tomorrow afternoon."

Xu Chengyang: "No worries, we'll go first, you can just join us after your class!"

Facing Mr. Xu's persistence, Wanwan and Yao Ye always comply quietly after a few rebuttals.
