82 Ho Early
In the past few days, Bai Qi was too busy with his work. A high-profiled patient was scheduled to undergo surgery at the hospital. Because Doctor Qi Zheng was going to participate in this surgery, Bai Qi had to attend this eting as well.
These days, he did not even have much ti to have a proper al with his little sister. Even when he returned from work, he would find his sister already sleeping in her room.
Seeing this situation made his heart ache.
Fortunately, he had a good neighbor who was willing to help him look after his sister. Doctor Qi Zheng and his wife had also lent their hand to look after Xi Xi. Otherwise, that little girl would be really pitiful.
Seeing that the young man had worked hard for the past few days, Qi Zheng decided to talk to his student.
“Bai Qi, are you on a night shift today as well?”
“Yes, Doctor Qi.” Bai Qi shot a puzzled look at his ntor.
A deep sigh escaped him. Qi Zheng knew that because Bai Qi was young and new at the hospital, the others often put him on duty at night.
“Go ho early today,” Qi Zheng patted his shoulder. “You have worked hard the past few days. You should spend your ti with your little sister as well. Don’t worry about your shift. I will look for soone to cover for you.”

Bai Qi was about to decline. But thinking of the little sister who would be sleeping whenever he got ho, Bai Qi decided to agree.
“Doctor Qi, thank you.”
“Don’t ntion it. I also need you to be in your best condition. In a few days, you have to assist with that surgery.”
After thanking his ntor, Bai Qi went to pick up his little sister at the landlord’s ho.
The mont Bai Xi Xi saw her elder brother, her eyes widened in surprise. It took her a few seconds to finally jogged over to her bother’s side. “Brother Bai Qi!” Bai Xi XI wrapped her arms around her brother’s neck.
His lips curled into a helpless smile the mont he saw the look on his sister’s face. He patted the girl’s head and spoke, “Are you that happy to see ?”
Bai Xi Xi nodded. “Brother, are you coming ho early today?”
“Un.”
“Will you have to return to the hospital again for your night shift?”
His heart was aching when he heard her question. “No. I’m not going back today. Today, I can accompany Xi Xi.”
“That’s great!” The smile on her face beca wider.
“What do you want to eat for dinner? Tonight, let cook for you, alright?”
“Then...” Bai Xi XI seed to be pondering over her brother’s question. “Can I eat so noodles?”
Bai Qi laughed at her answer. “Xi Xi, do you like noodles that much?”
“Un. I like it.” The little girl nodded. “Brother Bai Qi, the noodles that you make are especially good.”
“Then, let’s get back first. Afterward, we’ll go to the market and get so ingredients, alright?” Bai Qi patted her head. “Later, you have to help to clean the vegetables.”
“Alright. Xi Xi is very good at cleaning vegetables.”
After speaking with the landlord, Bai Qi took his little sister ho. Then, the two of them headed to the supermarket nearby their house to buy so ingredients.
It was a rare chance for them to go out together. Bai Qi took this chance to buy so necessities for his sister as well.
Bai Qi stared at the shirt that his sister was wearing for a long ti. “Xi Xi, it seed that you have grown up again. Should we go out and buy you so new clothes when I’m free?”
The little girl pulled at the hem of her shirt. “Really? I think my clothes still fit well. I can still wear this. Brother Bai Qi, let’s just wait for a while longer before we shop again.”
His lips turned to a faint smile. He really did not know what he should do to this sensible little sister.
Even though his sister had rejected him, Bai Qi still made a note to himself to buy so clothes for his sister. It seed that he will need to find soone to help him pick up so clothes for the little girl.
He couldn’t ask his landlord to help him. Then, should he ask Doctor QI’s wife to help him?
After picking up everything they might need for the house, the two of them walked over to the counter to pay for their items.
When they got ho, Bai Qi was busy cooking with his little sister. Seeing how happy she looked while she was helping him around, Bai Qi decided to take a few pictures of his sister’s smiling face.
After working hard, the two of them sat at the table and had their dinner together.
The little girl was swinging her legs happily while she ate.
Years ago, Bai Qi was soone who did not know how to cook as well.
However, he had no other choice but to pick up a few skills after his family was no longer around and he had to raise his little sister.
In the beginning, his cooking was inedible. His little sister would cry each ti he cooked sothing. But, buying takeaways was too expensive and he had no other choice but to learn.
Fortunately, there were a lot of videos that he could learn from. Auntie Jiang too had taught him a few tips that would make his work faster.
These days, Bai Qi can cook a lot of food.
Because he wanted his sister to eat healthily, he had to learn to cook all sorts of food.
A faint smile curled on his face as he thought of the past.
As his sister was eating her noodle, Bai Qi took out his phone to check on a few ssages from his co-workers. Seeing that there was nothing important made him feel more at ease.
He took this ti to browse through so of his friend’s Monts.
Finding a post, Bai Qi stopped scrolling the phone. He stared at the na for a long ti.
A while ago, Zhang Li Xue had added him as her friend. The little fairy said that she was going to treat him to a al after she got better.
Bai Qi clicked on the photo to enlarge it. It was a photo of a plate of chicken wings.
A look of puzzlent crossed his face.
He seed to have noticed that his little fairy had posted so photos of chicken wings previously.
His brow rose.
Does she like eating chicken wings?
