605 Another Unexpected Guest
On that day, Zhang Yi Hai was not the only one who ca to visit Zhang Li Xue at her office. In the evening, Zhang Li Xue received another unexpected guest.
After looking at a few docunts, Zhang Li Xue began to forget the ti again. Many of the staff had already clocked off from work, but Zhang Li Xue sat in her office and continued to look at her docunts.
The knock on her door snapped her to her senses.
Zhang Li Xue rely glanced at the door and told the person to co in. Then, she continued to look at her docunts as the person pushed the door and walked in.
There was a part of that docunt that caught her interest. Because of that, Zhang Li Xue did not look up to look at the person.
However, she quickly noticed that the person had not said a word for a long ti.
Her brow furrowed. Then, Zhang Li Xue began to raise her head.
When she saw who it was, the frown on her face quickly disappeared. Her eyes lit up and the corner of her lips raised.
The person who ca to her office this ti was Bai Qi.

Seeing the man’s smiling face, Zhang Li Xue finally stood up and walked over to his side. “Why are you here?” She glanced at her wristwatch and thought that it was still too early for Bai Qi to get off work.
Wait. Her hubby was supposed to work the night shift today. Otherwise, she would look at the ti and head back ho earlier.
“Another colleague wanted to change his schedule with ,” Bai Qi said. “I decided to get off a little early and co to pick you up from work. Fortunately, you are still here.”
Just as he finished saying those words, Zhang Li Xue arrived by his side and wrapped her arms around his waist. Her head rested on his chest as she listened to his heartbeat.
It was a rare chance for Bai Qi to visit her at her office. Therefore, Zhang Li Xue was especially excited to see him coming.
Bai Qi chuckled. He stroked his wife’s head a few tis before lowering his head to kiss the top of her head. Seeing how happy she was upon seeing him made him smile.
“I thought that we could have dinner outside before going back,” Bai Qi said. “But if you are busy—”
“It’s alright,” Zhang Li Xue answered before Bai Qi could finish his sentence. “It’s already ti to clock off from work. I can continue to look at the docunts tomorrow.”
A faint sigh escaped him. I don’t mind waiting for you for a while.” His eyes were gentle as he looked at his wife. Bai Qi would always rember how Zhang Li Xue would wait for him in his office whenever he was busy at work.
His wife would not mind spending her ti at his office and waiting for hours. Of course, Bai Qi would not mind waiting for her today.
Without letting Bai Qi say another word, Zhang Li Xue quickly turned around to tidy up her desk.
Then, less than five minutes later, Zhang Li Xue went to Bai Qi’s side with her purse in hand. “I’m ready. Let’s go. Where are you taking ?”
Bai Qi laughed at her expression. Of course, he was happy that his wife was looking forward to going out with him. “Let’s have dinner first. Then, we can stay at the apartnt tonight.” He lowered his head to kiss her lips. Sothing that he had looked forward to the mont he saw her earlier. “I already talked to Mom about this.”
Zhang Li Xue did not have any objection. She held Bai Qi’s hand and the two of them left the office together. She decided to leave her vehicle at the hotel and took Bai Qi’s car instead.
Once they were in the car, the couple began to chat about their days. Zhang Li Xue listened to Bai Qi telling her about his recent paperwork with full concentration. Although she did not understand much about it, Zhang Li Xue would always like listening to Bai Qi talk. Then, Zhang Li Xue would tell him about the project she was in charge of.
Once she had finished saying a few things, Bai Qi glanced at his wife again and asked, “You have been quite busy these past few days. Did you rember to eat your al?”
Zhang Li Xue batted her eyes, flashing him an innocent look. “Of course, I did.”
“Really?” Bai Qi raised a brow. “What did you eat today?”
Bai Qi had previously heard from his in-laws that his wife had this habit where she would forget to eat her al whenever she was busy. Because of that, she had a stomach problem.
“My mom send so sandwiches for lunch,” Zhang Li Xue said. “I ate them while looking at the docunts.”
His wife was looking at him with a pair of adorable eyes. Seeing this, Bai Qi knew that he would not have the heart to scold her even if she skipped her al.
Fortunately, his mother-in-law understood her daughter well and decided to send so food to her instead. Otherwise, his wife would skip her al again.
“How was it? Delicious?”
Zhang Li Xue thought about the sandwiches that her mother had made for her. “Of course, it’s delicious.” She had always liked whatever it is that her mother prepared for her. Then, a few seconds later, Zhang Li Xue recalled the taste of the egg sandwiches and her brow furrowed. “But I think that the taste is a little strange.”
“How strange?” Bai Qi frowned.
Zhang Li Xue snapped out of her thought when she heard Bai Qi’s question.
Earlier, she had thought that the egg sandwiches slled a little bad. However, if she said this to Bai Qi, the man would start to worry about the food she ate. Zhang Li Xue decided that it was best not to say anything about this to him.
Anyway, she had already eaten her sandwiches and did not experience any stomach ache. The food that her mother sent to her should be fine, right?
“Mmm... Maybe Mommy added so new ingredients,” Zhang Li Xue ca up with an excuse. “I did not notice what it was. I’ll ask Mommy when we get ho.”
