392 The Room Turned Dark
Her heartbeat accelerated as she heard Bai Qi close the door behind them. Zhang Li Xue pushed the wheelchair forward until she reached the sofa. She turned around slowly and saw that Bai Qi was watching her with a smile on his face.
The way he was looking at her was making her anxious, but Zhang Li Xue tried her best to appear calm in front of him.
Zhang Li Xue was the first to look away. She wheeled her wheelchair inside until she arrived at the wardrobe again. As the door slid open, Zhang Li Xue could see so of Bai Qi’s clothing hanging on the left side.
Seeing their clothes together made her smile.
Every little thing like this would make her happy.
Zhang Li Xue snapped out of her trance upon realizing that Bai Qi was coming closer. She quickly grabbed a set of pajamas and so underwear and placed them on her lap. She turned around again and flashed a shaky smile. “I-I should go and take my shower first.”
The smile on Bai Qi’s face widened upon seeing the way Zhang Li Xue reacted. He could sense that his wife was anxious.
Actually, he was the sa as her.
This was not the first ti that they have been alone and slept together. When they were visiting S Country not too long ago, Bai Qi had accompanied Zhang Li Xue in her room because she was afraid.

However, the two of them had not done anything other than sleep together.
This ti, it was different.
The two of them had just obtained their certificate together. It would be a lie to say that he was not looking forward to sothing happening between them.
Just thinking about it made his body turn hotter. Bai Qi could only take off a few buttons on his shirt to calm down.
However, the sound of water in the bathroom was too enticing.
His throat bobbed. Bai Qi quickly looked away from the bathroom and walked to the corner. He took the remote and lowered the temperature in the room.
Zhang Li Xue ca out again in her bathrobe. Her hair was a little damp. Seeing her, Bai Qi stood up from the sofa and headed to her side.
“I’m done with showering,” Zhang Li Xue said. “Bai Qi, you can go next.”
Bai Qi nodded. However, his gaze never left the person in front of him. He looked at her damp hair and frowned. “Where’s the hair dryer? Let help you to dry your hair.”
“It should be on the top drawer in the wardrobe,” Zhang Li Xue said.
Bai Qi went to look for the hairdryer. Then, he pulled his wife to the side and helped her to dry her hair.
The room was filled with the sound of the hairdryer. As he was helping her to dry her hair, Bai Qi could sll the familiar scent of her shampoo.
The two of them were too close. Bai Qi could feel his body heating up again.
Seeing that Zhang Li Xue’s hair had dried up, Bai Qi put the hairdryer on the table and stepped aside. “I’ll go and take my shower first.”
Before she could say a word, Bai Qi had already disappeared into the bathroom. Zhang Li Xue could only let out a chuckle upon seeing this.
Zhang Li Xue tightened her grip around her bathrobe. Then, she peeked into it and saw the pajamas she was wearing. Under the pajamas was the outfit that Fang Su Jin had given her earlier.
Just now, she was in a hurry to grab her pajamas and undies before she took a shower. She did not look carefully and had not realized that she was holding the outfit that her friend had gifted her.
She thought that she had thrown the outfit elsewhere, but apparently, it was kept on top of her underwear.
While she was dressing up, Zhang Li Xue realized that she had not taken a bra with her. Instead, it was that flimsy fabric. Then, it was already too late for her to do anything. She could not possibly ask Bai Qi to help her take her underwear from the drawer, right?
After pondering about it for a while, Zhang Li Xue decided to wear them inside her pajamas.
Taking a deep breath, Zhang Li Xue began to calm down.
After doing her skincare routine, Zhang Li Xue headed over to the bed. She lifted her body and sat on the mattress. She raised her injured leg cautiously before adjusting to sit comfortably.
Just as she had placed the blanket on her legs, Bai Qi ca out of the bathroom.
Zhang Li Xue looked at the man with an anticipated gaze. But seeing that he was looking at her, Zhang Li Xue quickly looked away again.
“Should I turn off the light?”
Zhang Li Xue was startled upon hearing his question. She looked up and nodded slowly. “Un. It’s alright.”
Bai Qi flickered the switch. Then, the room turned dark.
Zhang Li Xue slid into her blanket and lay down on her pillow.
The surrounding was too dark, but this ti, she was not afraid. This ti, Bai Qi was in the room with her.
Just then, Zhang Li Xue could feel the mattress beside her sink in. Her heartbeat accelerated, knowing that Bai Qi was beside her.
Her grip on the blanket tightened. Then, she could sll Bai Qi’s scent mixed with the shower gel he used. Suddenly, warm arms wrapped around her waist and his kiss fell on her forehead.
Zhang Li Xue raised her head. Now that Bai Qi was close to her, Zhang Li Xue could see his handso face.
“Don’t be afraid,” Bai Qi spoke softly. “I know what you are thinking. But, Li Xue, we don’t have to do anything if you don’t want to. I think it is also good to hug you to sleep like this. Moreover, your leg is still injured.”
Zhang Li Xue looked at him for a long ti. “Will it be alright?”
Bai Qi let out a chuckle. “Of course. Anyway, this would not be the first ti for us to cuddle and sleep.”
Zhang Li Xue pondered over his words. After a brief silence, she then spoke, “But, what if I want sothing to happen?”
