120 He Lost Everyone
Bai Qi was quiet for a long ti as he tried to organize the thoughts in his head.
There were too many things that happened after his family leave Y City. He did not know where he should start or how he should tell her.
Zhang Li Xue quickly noticed that his expression did not seem a little right. She began to worry that she had asked him sothing that would make him upset.
“If you think it’s too difficult for you to tell , you don’t have to answer,” Zhang Li Xue said. “You can tell about this when you are ready.”
“It’s fine.” Bai Qi flashed a smile. “I will tell you.”
Now that she had figured out his identity, sooner or later, she will know about what happened to his family. It would be better for her to hear about what happened through his mouth. Since she had asked, Bai Qi planned to tell her now. He did not think that he would have the courage to talk about this matter again another ti.
“Hmm... My grandfather passed away when I was twelve. He had an accident and passed away after fighting for a few days.”
Zhang Li Xue’s heart was aching.
“Since then, my grandmother’s health was not that good. She was often sick. Then, when I was fourteen, she passed away.” Bai Qi lowered his gaze as he spoke about his grandmother.
.....
He could still rember the helplessness when he could not do anything to help his grandmother at the side. In the family, his grandmother had spoiled him the most.
Zhang Li Xue could sense his mood change.
She was curious to know about his family. But seeing how he looked at this mont made her regret asking him this question. She did not want to see him sad.
Zhang Li Xue had an urge to hug him tightly and coax him.
After talking to her aunt earlier that day, Zhang Li Xue rembered a certain scene.
She could still rember Bai Qi’s grandmother. The old lady was nice and gentle. It was sad to think that her last visit to the Bai’s residence was her last ti eting the old lady.
Bai Qi thought of certain things and sighed. “Actually, my family’s business in S Country had been going on smoothly.”
Zhang Li Xue was a little puzzled when Bai Qi suddenly changed the topic.
“My father t a few good business partners and his company made a lot of money,” Bai Qi continued. “It was then that my parents decided to stay in S Country and no longer return to Y City. I was in the university when sothing happened to the company.” His expression turned solemn. “My father was cheated. His business partner ran away, leaving my father with a huge debt. Suddenly, everything began to change.”
Her eyes widened in surprise. Zhang Li Xue had never thought that sothing like this would happen to Bai Qi’s family.
“My father was busy looking around for a way to solve this problem. At the sa ti, my mother found out that she was pregnant with Xi Xi.” Bai Qi blinked and paused for a long ti.
Years had passed and he had thought that talking about what happened would be easy. Bai Qi did not think that his heart would still ache.
None of them had thought that his mother would get pregnant again.
He had almost turned twenty when his mother announced the news.
His mother always wanted a daughter. Therefore, even though she was a little old, his mother decided to give birth to this baby. The doctor had assured them that as long as his mother was careful, she would be able to give birth smoothly.
However, none of them thought that they were going to face another nightmare.
“My father...” Bai Qi took a deep breath before continuing, “He could not bear with the stress.”
He could still rember how the police had co to find him while he was in class to break the news. He had rushed out and followed the policen to the station.
Until this ti, he could not forget that scene.
The detective pulled the zipper and revealed his father’s face. It was grueso.
He would never have thought that his father would jump down the building because of the pressure. Then, there was only him and his mother.
Later, he and his mother were harassed by a group of people who were demanding to have their money back.
Bai Qi thought that his father was very selfish to leave him, his mother, and his unborn sister to face everything. He hated his father for this.
As the father, that man was supposed to protect the family. But he chose to end everything. He did not leave any words for them.
“After my father was gone, my mother beca depressed,” Bai Qi continued. “There was a little complication while she was giving birth to Xi Xi.” His lips turned into a mocking smile. “Later, there are only and Xi Xi.”
Zhang Li Xue could understand what was going on. Previously, Bai Xi Xi had told her how her mother passed away after giving birth to her.
She could imagine the pressure Bai Qi’s mother had faced.
Her eyes stung and her nose turned sour.
Zhang Li Xue did not think that Bai Qi would have suffered too much. He had lost everyone and only had his little sister. From then on, the siblings could only depend on each other.
At that ti, Bai Qi should still be in school.
It was amazing how he had raised his little sister by himself.
Zhang Li Xue could understand his reason for keeping his identity a secret.
She recalled everything that he had said to her previously and knew that the man did not have the confidence to face her.
After all, everything was so different for him now.
He was once the only heir to the Bai family. But he lost everything.
Zhang Li Xue bit her lips to stop herself from shedding a tear. She stood up and wrapped her arms around Bai Qi’s head, hugging him tightly. Her hand started to caress his head softly as if to console him.
