109 Coming to See Her
Zhang Li Xue had long expected that Bai Qi would agree.
After all, the person who asked was none other than his ntor. Bai Qi could only agree with his ntor’s request.
The mont they sat down, the boys began to chat happily about this and that.
anwhile, Zhang Li Xue turned to her friend and the two of them were eating their dinner while whispering a few words.
Zhang Li Xue had thought that she wouldn’t mind sharing the table with Doctor Bai. However, once the man was seated across from her, Zhang Li Xue began to feel a bit uncomfortable.
It was not hard to notice that Doctor Bai was secretly glancing at her.
Sohow, it made her annoyed.
Didn’t he tell her that it was improper for soone like her to befriend him? Why did he have to look at her? They were not friends and he should pretend as if he did not know her. Then, she would also do the sa.
Zhang Li Xue grew angrier as she recalled their last conversation at his apartnt’s parking lot. It was the first ti that she felt this angry. Because of it, she ate a little bit more as if trying to vent her frustration.
.....
“Li Xue, are you alright?” Fang Su Jin whispered.
The question snapped her out of her trance. Zhang Li Xue took a deep breath to calm down before flashing a smile at her friend. “I’m alright. Why are you asking this?”
Fang Su Jin heaved a sigh. “I’ve been calling your na for a while. You seed absent-minded. What’s wrong?”
“It’s nothing. I was just a bit disappointed with the chicken wings. They’re not as good as what my brother had said.”
Fang Su Jin began to laugh. “Alright. I know your barbecued chicken wings tasted the best. Next ti, let’s go on a barbecue retreat instead.”
Zhang Li Xue smiled. She was relieved that she managed to change the subject.
Seeing that her friend had stopped eating a while ago, Zhang Li Xue leaned over to Fang Su Jin again and whispered, “It doesn’t seem as if the boys will be finishing their conversation anyti soon. Do you want to return to our room first? ”
Fang Su Jin’s eyes lit up. “Alright.” Her stomach was already full and she was not interested in listening to the boy’s chat.
Zhang Li Xue turned to her brother and whispered a few words at him before she stood up.
The sound of the chair against the floor made the others turn.
“Sister, are you leaving?” Wei Zi Kai asked.
“Mmm... Su Jin and I are a bit sleepy after playing around. We’ll just head back to our room first,” Zhang Li Xue said.
She was aware that Bai Qi was still watching her. However, she did not want to et his gaze. It was best to ignore him. Otherwise, she would only get angry.
“Then, let accompany you back,” Wei Zi Ming said. He was about to push back the chair when his cousin waved her hand.
“No need,” Zhang Li Xue said. “Our hotel block isn’t that far from here. Su Jin and I will be alright. You guys just sit around and continue to talk.” She turned to her uncle and nodded “Uncle Qi Zheng. My friend and I will head back first.”
Qi Zheng nodded. “Rember to call us if there’s anything.”
Before the others could say anything more, Zhang Li Xue held Fang Su Jin’s hand and the two of them began to walk over to their hotel block.
The wind blew, ssing up with their hair a bit.
Zhang Li Xue took a deep breath, enjoying the scent of the sea around them.
“This is nice,” Fang Su Jin comnted. “Do you want to take a walk around the hotel?”
Zhang Li Xue thought about the amount of food she ate and nodded. “Alright. But let’s not go too far. Otherwise, the others might worry.”
The two girls held hands as they walked into the small garden. Both were quiet as they were enjoying the sound of waves from afar.
“Li Xue.” It was Fang Su Jin who broke the silence.
“Hmm?”
Fang Su Jin continued to walk forward and spoke absentmindedly. “That person. Your uncle’s student...”
Zhang Li Xue frowned, wondering why was her friend talking about Bai Qi.
“Do we know him from sowhere before?” Fang Su Jin turned to her friend. “Why do I feel as if he’s a bit familiar?”
“Really? I don’t think so.” Zhang Li Xue pondered over the question and shook her head. “My uncle said, Doctor Bai was from S Country. Then, he moved to the north to study dicine.”
“S Country? Then, maybe I was mistaken.” Fang Su Jin waved her hand. She had never been to S Country or the north before. It was impossible for her to have t Bai Qi before. “I just thought that his na sounded familiar. Perhaps it was soone else.”
Zhang Li Xue decided not to ntion Bai Qi living in Y City when he was a little boy. She did not think that it was related.
“Mss Zhang!”
Zhang Li Xue turned around upon hearing her na. Her brow furrowed, finding Bai Qi jogged over to their side.
Was he... coming to see her?
“Miss Zhang.” Bai Qi stopped in front of them as he heaved to catch up his breath. He stood up straight and looked her in the eyes. “Can I talk to you for a while?”
“I don’t have anything to talk to you about.” Zhang Li Xue veered her eyes away.
Fang Su Jin began to feel that there was sothing strange between these two. She stared at Bai Qi for a while and turned to her friend.
Her instinct was telling her that Zhang Li Xue has been hiding sothing. Fang Su Jin narrowed her eyes.
“Su Jin, let’s go.” Zhang Li Xue held Fang Su Jin’s hand and turned around.
She took a few steps before Bai Qi grabbed her arms to stop her.
Her eyes widened in surprise. Zhang Li Xue looked at Bai Qi in displease. “What are you doing?”
Bai Qi quickly released his hand and held both hands up. “Sorry. I’m sorry” He realized that he was too impatient and had crossed the line. He looked at his little fairy with a pair of pleading eyes. “Please. Can I talk to you? Only for a few minutes.”
