Brandan walked down from the car and saw Lady Hyde sitting on the sofa, he called out, "Mom."
Lady Hyde was surprised to hear the voice and looked up, "Brandan? You’re discharged?"
Brandan took off his sunglasses, revealing his sharp and handso face. He had lost so weight, making his facial features more deep-set and charming.
"Mm."
He walked in and said lightly, "The hospital was too boring, so I asked the doctor to discharge early."
Lady Hyde looked at him, and seeing that he was indeed fine, she breathed a sigh of relief, but then sothing ca to her mind, and she asked, "Did you see Iris when you ca in? She was carrying things by herself, otherwise..."
Before she could finish her sentence, she saw a strong wave of disgust flash in her son’s eyes.
Lady Hyde closed her mouth hesitantly. She looked at Brandan and couldn’t help but ask, "Brandan, do you really dislike Iris that much?"
Upon hearing this, Brandan slightly pursed his lips, a slightly complex light flickering in his eyes, before saying, "Of course."
Lady Hyde sighed, "After all, she saved your life... and what happened to Viola wasn’t her fault. No one would have wanted that..."
Brandan said nothing, just slightly pressed his lips, and after a long pause, he said, "I don’t want to hear her na now. Mom, I’m going upstairs."
Lady Hyde watched Brandan’s retreating back and sighed helplessly.

Brandan entered the bedroom, took off his coat, and stood by the window looking down.
Iris Harris was standing by the roadside, trying to hail a cab with her suitcase.
After a month of not seeing each other, he wondered if it was his illusion that her back looked much thinner, standing by the roadside looking sowhat frail and weak.
A complex feeling rose in his heart, but rembering Viola laying in the hospital, his heart turned cold again.
Viola Harris... almost died because of him.
And had she truly died, it would have been Iris Harris’s doing.
He knew Lady Hyde was right, no one wished for such things to happen, not even him anticipated that Viola would do such a thing.
But he couldn’t help blaming Iris Harris. If she hadn’t made such an over-the-top request, the already frail Viola Harris wouldn’t still be in the hospital.
Brandan forced his gaze away from Iris Harris, he walked to the bed and lay down, yet his mind flashed to Iris Harris’s expression when he drove over just now.
She stood by the roadside looking at him like that, her pale face calm, yet her eyes just looked at him, he couldn’t describe her gaze at that mont as if sothing was burning in her eyes, shocking to behold.
Thinking about this, Brandan couldn’t help but get up from the bed again, walking to the window to look outside.
The place where Iris Harris had been standing was now empty, the road desolate, a few fallen leaves fluttered with the wind. He gazed intently at the spot where Iris Harris had just stood, a bit of an unusual feeling flashed in his heart.
Sowhat feeling a sense of loss.
Much later, when Brandan recalled this morning, he vaguely realized it was from this day that he gradually began to lose her.
Iris Harris’s love for him also started from this day, gradually burning out... until it was completely turned to ashes.
