In the hall, Lady Hyde saw Iris Harris coming over and happily greeted her, "Iris, you’re here! Are you hungry? Let’s go eat."
Iris Harris obediently let Lady Hyde lead her towards the dining room. Over the years, although Brandan didn’t like her, Lady Hyde treated her very well. For the bittersweet love between her and Brandan, although she didn’t fully support it, she was always creating opportunities for them, often inviting her over for a al.
Even though every ti she ca over for a al, Brandan would finish eating at lightning speed and leave.
In the dining room, Lady Hyde would occasionally pick dishes for Iris Harris, while Brandan sat alone, eating silently without saying a word.
"Iris, have you been tired recently?" Lady Hyde asked with concern, noticing Iris Harris’ noticeably thinner cheeks, "Look at you, you’ve lost so much weight. Have you not been eating well?"
Brandan heard this and silently raised his eyes to glance at Iris Harris. Her face did seem paler than usual today...
Thinking of her ntioning earlier when he picked her up that she wasn’t feeling well...
Could it be from last ti, when he hurt her, and she still hasn’t recovered yet?
How long has it been? This person is really too weak...
Brandan grumbled in his heart and then heard Iris Harris chuckle, saying, "Work has been hectic lately, so I haven’t had ti to eat."
Although she was the adopted daughter of the Harris family, after graduating from university, Iris Harris started working at Harris Clan.
"You really are..." Lady Hyde sighed, "You’re still so young, why are you pushing yourself so hard?"
Iris Harris smiled faintly, "After all, my parents raised ... Besides, if I don’t work, I have nowhere to go."
Lady Hyde glanced at Brandan, "Then let Brandan take you out to have fun. He seems to be free all the ti."
Brandan nearly choked, quickly refusing, "No way!"
Taking Iris Harris out to have fun, he wasn’t crazy!
Lady Hyde glared at Brandan, "Brandan, I’m just asking you to take Iris out, not for your life. Why are you being like this?"
Brandan frowned, holding his chopsticks tightly with so restraint. He didn’t like going against his mother; he respected her, but...
Over there, Iris Harris tily interjected, "Auntie, Brandan is busy with work too. I won’t disturb him."
With Iris Harris refusing, Lady Hyde didn’t push Brandan anymore, just nodded and said, "Alright. If you’re unwilling, forget it."
This ti, Brandan was slightly surprised.
He assud Iris Harris would jump at the chance, eager to cling to him.
Whenever he went sowhere, she’d follow, even more persistently than a shadow.
But now, with a legitimate excuse to pester him, she actually refused...
Did she eat sothing bad?
Even Brandan couldn’t understand why, if Iris Harris agreed, he’d definitely be unhappy, but with her refusal, he felt uncomfortable inside.
Really... doesn’t understand himself.
Brandan quickly finished his dinner and went upstairs alone. Iris Harris stayed with Lady Hyde through dinner, then accompanied her for a stroll in the garden, before returning to sit on the sofa, watching TV shows together.
