Lady Hyde gently took Iris Harris’s hand, smiling at Brandan, "What’s wrong?"

Brandan didn’t say a word, just furrowed his brows several tis. If he’d known this woman would co over, he wouldn’t have co back!
The reason he ca back this ti was because he knew his dad was on a business trip abroad today, and he was worried his mom would be lonely eating alone.
"Co on, let’s eat."
Lady Hyde said.
Brandan remained silent, simply walked in, glanced without acknowledging Iris Harris, and headed towards the dining room.
In the dining room, Lady Hyde happily served Iris Harris so dishes.
"Iris, our family’s ribs are very good, you should try them."
"Mmm, thank you, Auntie."
"What are you thanking for? We’ll be family soon."
Lady Hyde said cheerfully.
"Cough, cough, cough..."
Across the table, Brandan suddenly started coughing, incredulously looking at Lady Hyde, "Mom, what did you just say?"
Lady Hyde looked at him gently, "Isn’t Brandan going to marry Iris in the future? Then Iris will be part of the Hyde family."
Iris Harris heard this and slightly widened her eyes, unable to help but nervously clenched her fingers.
She instinctively glanced at Brandan, only to find the man’s face across the table had turned livid.
"Mom, didn’t I say last ti that it’s impossible for to marry a woman like her?!"
"A woman like that?" Brandan’s blunt words made Lady Hyde’s delicate eyebrows slightly furrowed, "Brandan, what kind of woman do you think Iris is?"

"She was willing to save you when you were ill, which is a great kindness. Since she likes you, you should marry her. What’s wrong with that?"
"Ha." Brandan let out a cold laugh, "What era is this? You’re still playing the ’devoted oneself for life’? Damn it, it’s still devoting myself!"
"Even if it’s devoting oneself, it’s only right." Lady Hyde calmly said, "You’re the only child in the Hyde Residence. What would we do if you died? Your lifesaver, even if she wanted half of the Hyde family’s assets, it would be worth it!"

Brandan was so angry he felt dizzy, lowered his head and started eating furiously by himself, finished his al and imdiately left the dining room, heading upstairs alone.
After Brandan left, Iris Harris sat in her chair, slightly dazed.
"Iris?"
Lady Hyde’s voice sounded in her ear.
"Huh?" Iris Harris snapped back to reality and looked at Lady Hyde.
"Don’t be angry at Brandan’s words." Lady Hyde softly held Iris Harris’s hand and whispered, "You saved his life, yet he says such willful things, truly..."
"I won’t be." Iris Harris smiled, "How could I bear to be angry with him."

Lady Hyde looked at her smile, slightly stunned for a mont, her eyes flashed with so complexity, and then she sighed softly.
