That was the last sumr she rembered, the chirping of cicadas and the strawberry scent from Brandan Hyde, blended into a morable aroma that lingered in her mory.
He truly left her with so much.
So for the past ten years, she has been relentless, exhausting everything, just to hold onto those mories, unwilling to let go.
Too persistent, in the end, it hurts both others and herself.

Upon waking, it was already morning.
Iris Harris opened her eyes and raised her hand to rub them.
There still seed to be a sweet strawberry scent in the air, reminding her of the dream she had last night, making her laugh bitterly.
Why did she suddenly dream of those things?
She thought she had let go of everything.
"Miss Harris, are you awake?"
The servant gently asked from outside the door.
"Awake." Iris replied, "What’s up?"
"Lady Hyde asks you to co downstairs for the al."
"Oh..."
Iris nodded, "I know."
The servant gently pushed the door open, placed the new clothes on the bed, glanced at Iris, and softly asked, "Miss Harris, do you need help to dress?"
Iris burst into laughter, "No need. I’m not at that level yet."
She’s not undergoing chemotherapy, her movents are still flexible, alright?
Upon hearing this, the servant awkwardly chuckled, "Then I’ll be going out first. If you need anything, you can call ."
Iris nodded as she watched the servant leave, before reaching for the clothes.
The fabric was very soft, Iris touched it briefly, then changed into the clothes brought by the servant.
Getting out of bed, she inevitably felt a bit weak. She steadied herself, went into the bathroom, brushed her teeth, and washed her face.
"Iris," Lady Hyde saw her co down, approached and held her, "How are you feeling now?"
"Auntie, I’m fine." Iris smiled, "I can walk by myself."
Lady Hyde looked at her expression, sighed, and her expression turned very sad for so reason.
"Auntie, I’ll go have my al first."
Iris didn’t want to see her sad expression anymore, so she turned and entered the dining room.
These past few days, Iris had a very leisurely ti at the Hyde Residence.
Brandan Hyde seed to be busy with sothing and seldom t her, Lady Hyde was afraid she’d be upset and rarely ntioned her illness in front of her. She ate and drank freely, and felt she might gain weight.
Except for being reminded to take her dicine on ti, everything was perfect.
That evening, Brandan Hyde returned from outside and saw Iris sleeping on the sofa.
She was holding a teddy bear in her arms, her long hair lazily scattered over her face, revealing only half of her visage, bathed in the setting sun’s glow, lazily like a cat.
Brandan Hyde quietly stood at the door watching her for a while, then walked over and bent down to pick her up.
"Hmm..."
Iris was woken up by the noise, opened her eyes to look at him.
"It’s late, sleeping here might give you a chill."
Iris, still drowsy, listened to his words, and obediently lowered her head back down, nestled in his arms continuing her nap.
Seeing her in this condition, Brandan Hyde’s fingers unconsciously tightened. He felt sad and took a deep breath before carrying her upstairs, carefully settling her onto the bed.
Outside the window, the sunlight gradually dimd, leaving only a faint afterglow.
Brandan Hyde sat at the bedside, through the dim shadows, quietly observing her face.
After a long while, he withdrew his gaze, tilted his head back, staring at the void.
The handover date agreed with Jas Mason was tomorrow.
Tomorrow marks the departure.
This farewell might be forever.
