William Moore was right. If he didn’t treat her well, there would be other n who would.

In the past, he was dismissive, thinking Iris Harris was devoted to him.

But now, he no longer had words to say.

Even the chance to treat her well, he hadn’t anymore.

His life had been smooth and successful, everything went his way, and now he finally understood that the fortune he had in the first half of his life needed a lifeti to repay.

Dusk approached.

When the secretary ca out of the secretary’s office, she saw the lights next door were still on.

She carried her bag, hesitated for a mont, and then carefully pushed the door open to peek inside.

In the brightly lit office, Brandan Hyde stood by the window looking into the distance, his silhouette was straight and his physique very perfect.

Yet sohow, looking at his figure, there was a feeling of sadness emanating from him.

The air carried a faint scent of tobacco, the window was open, and the night wind had beco chilly as it blew in, making the office air quite cold.

The secretary hesitated a little, not knowing why she felt he was crying.

"Boss Hyde..."

She instinctively called out to him.

But imdiately regretted it.

At this mont, he probably didn’t want anyone to see him, right?

The man standing facing the window heard the noise and turned his head slightly, revealing a pair of calm and cold eyes.

Those eyes were as usual, indifferent and calm.

Turns out he wasn’t crying...

The secretary breathed a sigh of relief.

"What’s the matter?"

"It’s getting late, everyone has left. Aren’t you going back?"

Brandan Hyde extinguished the cigarette in the ashtray, and with so indifference nodded: "You go ho. I’ll stay a while longer."

"..." The secretary glanced at his face, and quietly said, "Did sothing happen to you?"

Brandan Hyde glanced at her, and the little secretary wished she could bite her tongue off. She awkwardly smiled: "I didn’t an anything, just rarely see you so worried. We secretaries are here to relieve the boss’s worries..."

Brandan Hyde, surprisingly, said nothing and fiddled with the already extinguished cigarette butt with his slender fingers, quietly said: "My troubles are not sothing you can help with, you should go ho."

The little secretary coughed softly: "You’re right... I’ll go now. Boss Hyde, you should rest early too!"

The office door slowly closed, Brandan Hyde withdrew his gaze, looking at the slowly darkening sky.

He raised his hand to gently stroke his own face.

So, was he actually this sad now?

Sad enough for even outsiders to notice his emotions.

As a superior, naturally, one should not show their emotions, and he always did well in the company.

Brandan Hyde looked at his own face reflected in the window, lost in thought, then softly sighed.

"Brandan..."

Coming out of Iris Harris’s hospital room, Lady Hyde saw Brandan Hyde, and was montarily stunned before quickly walking over.

This was the first ti Brandan Hyde ca to see her since Iris Harris woke up four or five days ago.

"Iris is having dinner," Lady Hyde held Brandan’s hand, "Do you want to go see her?"

"Hmm." Brandan Hyde nodded without expression, "Since she’s eating, I’ll wait and see her later. Seeing might ruin her appetite."

Lady Hyde heard this, laughed awkwardly, and then pulled Brandan Hyde aside to sit down.

Lady Hyde carefully looked at Brandan Hyde’s face, raised her hand to tenderly touch his much thinner chin, and said with concern: "Have you not been eating well lately? Why have you lost so much weight?"

Brandan Hyde took her hand away, looking at her, after a mont, he said: "Mom, Iris can be saved."
