Brandan’s eyebrows furrowed tightly; he couldn’t understand what Iris Harris was saying. Yet the way she looked at him was filled with such sadness, as if she were speaking to soone through him.
He felt an inexplicable anxiety rise within him. He bit his lip and asked softly, "Iris, what are you saying? What promise did I break?"
But Iris’s gaze fell vaguely upon his face. Her expression seed very dazed. After hearing his words, she just smiled, "Of course, you don’t rember. Originally, only I rembered..." Tears slowly trickled down her face, as if she were heartbroken beyond control, "That’s why you can hurt as you wish, anyway you don’t rember..."
It’s resentnt, isn’t it? Resentnt that after all these years, he still refused to rember.
Resentnt that in the past decade, apart from hurting her, he never gave her anything.
She looked deeply at his face.
After a long ti, she finally said softly, "Ten years ago, you saved here."
"Ten years later, let give my life back to you here."
"Iris!" Brandan’s eyes widened as he looked at her.
"This way... we won’t owe each other anything anymore..."
Perhaps she truly owed him...
And spent ten years repaying it.
Iris gazed intently at him, while Brandan’s expression was one of panic and confusion.
He truly couldn’t rember.
Even now, he still couldn’t rember.
In truth, she had understood this long ago.
But she was still unwilling to give up; she wanted to try just one more ti.
To this day, she couldn’t bring herself to give up.
Iris took a deep breath; her tears continued to fall as she took a step backward.
In her blurred vision, Brandan’s eyes slowly widened. For the first ti, that usually cold face showed such a frightened expression.
If there’s a next life.
I truly don’t want to et you.
Even if it ans living a lifeti with a heart as still as water, it’s better than being wounded by you beyond repair.
At the mont she fell into the sea, she felt soone jump in as well. The waves were huge, as it was high tide. Iris’s eyes widened slightly, but in the next second, a massive wave surged, sweeping her away...
***************************
When Lady Hyde ran to the seaside, she saw just the mont Iris Harris fell into the sea.
The next second, she saw Brandan jumping in after her.
She was so terrified that her face lost all color and she could barely stand. The people she brought along all went into the sea to rescue, and Lady Hyde fainted for a few minutes. When she ca to, she staggered toward the shore.
The waves were enormous.
Frighteningly large.
The sky slowly darkened, and a giant moon slowly floated up from the depths of the sea like a colossal eye.
Lady Hyde knelt on the ground, looking at where Brandan and Iris fell into the sea, unable to control her tears.
It was all her fault...
Lady Hyde wished she could tear herself apart.
It was all her fault.
When she heard Iris walking eastward, she knew she was coming here.
The place where she and he parted ten years ago.
She never thought that a mont’s misjudgnt back then would lead to such a bitter result now.
Even Brandan was dragged into it...
"Madam..."
Soone said softly behind her, "There is no trace of Miss Harris and Young Hyde. I’ve already called the rescue team; they’ll be here soon."
Lady Hyde’s face turned as pale as paper, she stared unblinkingly at the sea surface, her entire body trembling uncontrollably.
Ten years ago, she lost a son here...
Ten years later, is she to lose again?
