Iris Harris chuckled softly, her voice very calm as she said, "Aunt, a short pain is better than a long one."

Even if one day Lady Hyde learns she has died, it will just be a montary hurt, not as painful as watching her wait to die.

Thinking about it, it’s all Brandan Hyde’s fault for disrupting her plans and making everything a ss.

Upon hearing, Lady Hyde raised her head and stared blankly at her.

Talking about the topic of death, Iris looked so calm.

She had even thought about going overseas after her death, considering their feelings.

Yet such calmness was unnatural.

Faced with such events, afflicted by such illness, how could she be so calm?

As if she didn’t care at all, not afraid, not terrified.

For so reason, Lady Hyde’s heart slowly sank; she held Iris’s hand, feeling how cold her fingers were. She lowered her head to look at Iris’s hand and asked softly, "Iris, aren’t you afraid?"

Iris was taken aback for a mont, "Aunt, what’s wrong?"

She saw the hesitation and sorrow on Lady Hyde’s face.

"You have this illness, are you not afraid?"

Iris was silent for a mont, then shook her head.

Lady Hyde bit her lip slowly, a wave of sadness surged in her heart; she didn’t know why she felt so upset, perhaps she thought of the Iris from the past.

That Iris, is she never coming back?

Lady Hyde sat quietly by the bed, alone, wiping her tears; her heart ached, filled with sorrow and grief.

Iris watched her cry, feeling sowhat helpless, wanting to comfort her but not knowing what to say.

Every ti she spoke, Lady Hyde cried even more. In the end, feeling helpless, she had to pass tissue to her.

Watching Lady Hyde cry, Iris’s heart felt like it was soaked in water, a wet and aching feeling.

Seeing those who care for her cry for her, her heart felt heavy too.

"Iris." Lady Hyde held both her hands, her eyes red and swollen, "I will definitely heal you. Don’t give up hope, trust , okay?"

Iris smiled slightly, "I trust you."

Lady Hyde, seeing her agree, cried again, "You’re lying to . You’re just placating . You clearly don’t want to get well."

Iris looked at her helplessly, "Aunt, I didn’t an that."

Lady Hyde kept crying, "You must be placating ... Otherwise, why would you want to go abroad, you never planned to get treatnt; even if you promised now, that can’t be what you’re really thinking."

"... ..."

Iris sighed, not expecting the usually gentle and understanding Lady Hyde to be so stubborn and unreasonable, leaving her defenseless.

She stopped talking, sighed softly, and used tissue to wipe Lady Hyde’s tears carefully.

Over the past ten years, she had seen how well Lady Hyde treated her.

Still, she didn’t have the courage to live on just for her.

Living was a very painful thing; those mories constantly tangled within her, she had to keep thinking about the things that happened, those past tornts didn’t fade away with ti.

She was truly in pain.

She no longer had a ho.

No family, no lover, no child.

Almost everything a person could lose, she had lost.
