"In the past, when I opened my heart to you, you were indifferent to ; now that I ignore you, you’re acting like this." Iris Harris smiled, "Brandan Hyde, are you really this childish?"
"..."
"Spare , please." Iris Harris sighed helplessly, "I really can’t play with you anymore. Can’t you just let spend the remaining ti enjoying my life alone?"
Brandan closed his eyes, "I like you."
When he said this, for so reason, his heart only felt desolate.
"..."
Iris Harris showed no reaction.
He opened his eyes and looked at her. Her gaze was very calm, without anger or joy. Just a kind of familiar indifference.
"You knew all along, didn’t you?"
Iris Harris smiled calmly, "I also thought you liked ." When you looked at like that, I also thought you had fallen for .
"But, if you truly liked , how could you like on one hand and exchange with Viola Harris on the other?" Iris Harris couldn’t help but laugh, "It’s so strange, Brandan Hyde. How could anyone who likes soone bear to hurt that person? Don’t you think it’s strange?"
Brandan looked at her face. He rembered his mother crying and saying to him, it’s too late, Brandan, it’s already too late.
Indeed, it was already too late.
Words could no longer convey his feelings.
Her heart was completely shattered.
Brandan moved his lips, but couldn’t say a word.
His heart was cold and painful. He slowly turned his head, looked across, and murmured, "I really like you."
Yet, these words of affection were utterly powerless.
He slowly lowered his eyes and clenched his fingers tightly.
Indeed, it was already too late.
**********************
Brandan slowly drove the car back.
When Iris Harris got out of the car, Lady Hyde ca out of the house. Her eyes were still red. She ca over and held Iris’s hand tightly.
Her eyes were full of apology. Iris Harris shook her head at Lady Hyde, "Auntie, it’s okay."
"Iris..."
"I was planning to take a break anyway." Iris Harris smiled, "After all, I don’t have work now, so it doesn’t matter if I relax in River City."
Lady Hyde felt imnse guilt. Brandan, indeed, brought Iris Harris back. As his mother, she really had no way to deal with him.
Brandan took Iris Harris’s suitcase down and handed it to the servant, "Hang the clothes back in the wardrobe."
"Yes."
Sensing the strange atmosphere, the servant quickly ran off with the suitcase.
Brandan held Iris Harris’s passport and said to her, "Wherever you want to go in the future, I’ll go with you. So, I’ll keep your passport for now."
Iris Harris looked at him, seemingly angry for a mont, but restrained herself. Brandan calmly walked into the house. Lady Hyde watched her son leave and then looked at Iris Harris, "Iris, did he bully you?"
Iris Harris was also looking at Brandan. She seed to have a headache and couldn’t help but sigh softly, "Auntie, what do you think he wants to do?"
Lady Hyde looked at Iris Harris’s face. Her expression seed genuinely confused, not understanding Brandan’s intentions.
Cautiously, Lady Hyde couldn’t help but ask, "Iris, don’t you think Brandan... likes you?"
