She stumbled back, her bare feet scraping against the carpet as she clutched Fang Lin’s arms desperately.

"Don’t touch her!" Fang Lin snapped, stepping in front of Yueyao bravely to shield her.

Her slender body trembled but her chin lifted defiantly, "She doesn’t want to go back with you. She’s divorcing you, Shen Xiao. Just let her go! You don’t have to force issues!"

A cold smile curled at the corners of his lips as he slipped his hands casually into his trouser pockets, his gaze never leaving Yueyao’s pale, broken face.

"You think I will let her go just because she wants to leave? I never forced her to marry , she chose to, she ca to on her knees!" His voice was low, calm, and terrifyingly gentle, "You think... divorce is an option for her?"

Fang Lin’s breath caught painfully in her chest as her knees weakened under his suffocating presence. But she forced herself to stand firm, spreading her arms protectively in front of Yueyao.

"Get out," she coldly whispered hoarsely, her voice shaking. "Get out of my house. You are trespassing and I can call the cops!"

"You can try and see, who do you think will be in the wrong for causing the chaos?"

"You! Get out...."!

But Shen Xiao ignored her. His eyes softened faintly as he looked at Yueyao, his voice dropping to a whisper that was ant only for her.

"Co over here, Yueyao."

She shook her head violently, her tears spilling over as silent sobs racked her frail body.

Her knees gave way and she collapsed onto the couch behind Fang Lin, curling into herself as though trying to disappear.

"Please..." she whispered, her voice breaking apart. "Please... don’t take back there... I can’t... I can’t breathe there..."

Sothing flickered briefly in his dark eyes, but it vanished as quickly as it appeared.

Without another word, he stepped forward and grabbed her arm in a bruising grip, yanking her roughly to her feet. Fang Lin tried to push him away, pounding her fists against his chest with desperate fury.

"Let her go! Shen Xiao, let her go!"

He didn’t spare her a glance. His entire focus was on Yueyao, whose body trembled violently in his hold, her tear-streaked face turned away from him in silent terror and revulsion.

"Thank you for taking care of my wife," he said coldly to Fang Lin as he tightened his grip on Yueyao’s thin wrist, "But this is the last ti. Don’t get involved, you don’t know what I’m capable of!"

Yueyao struggled out of his grip and rushed to the end of the living room trembling heavily.

"Go away!"

"Leave alone...."

"Co here, Yueyao."

"No!" she scread, her voice cracking as it bounced off the apartnt walls. Her thin fra trembled violently as tears poured down her face, "Don’t touch ! Don’t co near !"

He took a step forward. One at a ti enclosing the gap in between them...

Her eyes widened in wild panic, with a hoarse cry, she grabbed the ceramic vase on Fang Lin’s coffee table and hurled it at him with all her strength. It smashed against his shoulder, shattering into pieces on the floor.

"Stay away from !" she shrieked, grabbing anything her hands could reach, glass cups, scented candles, porcelain ornants, and throwing them at him one after another.

Crashes and cracks echoed deafeningly as glass shards and ceramic fragnts scattered across the room, slicing her bare feet as she stumbled backwards in tears.
