Ring, ring.
Luke had just gotten into the car when his phone rang.
It was the deputy's number, Luke pressed the answer button.
"Hello."
"I have two new leads to inform you, the first one being Mary from the tech team has arrived.
They collected hair and skin flakes from the equipnt left by the shooter and successfully extracted the shooter's DNA sample. If you haven't left Brown Bryant's house yet, you'd better get a comparison sample."
"Got it, what's the other lead?"
"We found a white Volkswagen near the supermarket, but the license plate is different; it's a duplicate plate vehicle.
Through road caras, we identified the driver as the suspect Brown Bryant. Matthew and I are tracking the whereabouts of this car."
"Well done, next ti you have similar news just send it to the chat group, so everyone can see."
"I don't much like using that thing," the deputy said, then hung up directly.
Luke shook his head, what a grumpy old man.
Jackson asked, "Captain, did the deputy find new leads?"
"Yes, they've tracked down the suspect's vehicle.
Additionally, the tech team has collected a DNA sample resembling the shooter, and we need to find a comparison sample."
Blackie said, "That old man sure is capable! We can't let him outdo us, where to now?"
Luke said, "Go to the Truck Association and find the truck driver who had contact with Brown Bryant."
Blackie frowned, "We only know he's a white male, in his 30s, pretty strong-built.
Damn, the truck drivers I know are all strong; you can't find him with just this information."
"You go to the Truck Association and find the person in charge, I'll stay and make forensic sketches for Brown Bryant's parents, once I'm done I'll send it to you for the person in charge to identify."
Luke added, "Be careful while investigating at the Truck Association.
Brown Bryant hasn't co of age, has no inco source, he doesn't even have a cellphone, let alone a handgun; he likely couldn't afford that equipnt, so it's probably provided by accomplices.
He's quite reclusive, not many people interact with him.
This truck driver is likely his accomplice."
Blackie got out of the car and took Port's car to the Truck Association.
Luke got out of the car with Jackson, Raymond, and Jenny.
Luke said to Raymond, "Later you'll be responsible for collecting Brown Bryant's DNA sample, I'll stay to make forensic sketches for his parents."
"Got it, Chief."
Seeing Luke back with more people, Ronnie Bryant put down his repair tools, stood up and asked, "Sir, is there anything else?"
"Mr. Bryant, when did the truck driver co to your house?"
"I can't rember the exact ti, should be about a week ago."
"Do you rember what the truck driver looked like? I want to make a forensic sketch of him."
"I rember so, but I'm not sure."
"Thanks for your cooperation." Luke didn't give him a chance to refuse.
Ronnie Bryant nodded reluctantly, "Co with ."
Delisa Bryant saw her husband back with the police again, asked suspiciously, "What's going on?"
"We want to make a forensic sketch of the truck driver, and also need to search Brown Bryant's room."
Delisa Bryant resisted, "Why do you need to search my son's room?"
Jackson took out a docunt, "Here's the search warrant."
Delisa Bryant tapped her forehead, "Oh my God, is this necessary?"
Little girl Oli said, "Mom, I always said it was him, it was him."
"Shut up." Delisa Bryant pointed at her daughter, scolded, "Go back to your room imdiately."
Delisa Bryant took the search warrant and reviewed it carefully, "You're absolutely mistaken, my son couldn't be the shooter."
Luke said, "I hope I'm wrong, that's why we need to investigate thoroughly."
Despite so reluctance, Delisa Bryant led Raymond and Jenny to the room's door, "Don't ss up the things inside."
"Mr. and Mrs. Bryant, we're investigating the white man who ca to Brown Bryant, we'd like the two of you to help with a forensic sketch."
Delisa Bryant directly refused, "Sorry, I've already forgotten what he looked like."
Ronnie Bryant said, "I rember."
Delisa Bryant was angry and surprised at Ronnie, "How could you do this?"
"Darling, I have to do this, it's unavoidable, you understand it clearly."
Luke said, "Mr. Bryant is right, if you truly believe your son is innocent, you should assist us in the investigation."
Raymond and Jenny searched Brown Bryant's room, collecting so hair and skin flakes from his bed, and sent it to the police station for identification promptly.
Luke and Jackson stayed to complete the forensic sketch identification.
More than an hour later, Luke finished the forensic sketch identification and sent it to Blackie at the Truck Association.
Luke bid farewell to the Bryants and returned to the police station.
Back at the office, Luke found the deputy, Raymond, and Jenny all absent, asked Matthew at the computer, "Where did they go?"
