Why are there two different pieces of information about Zheng Lagong at the sa ti.

Could it be that soone is releasing a smokescreen.

What's their purpose?

Luke suddenly thought of a possibility and broke out in a cold sweat.

He took out his phone and dialed Will's number, knowing that calling Will now was a bit of a risk, but he had to make the call quickly.

"Hey, bro."

Luke probed, "Have you eaten?"

"I'm alone here, go ahead." Will's voice showed no signs of anything unusual.

"What did I just tell you? Do you rember?" Luke was very careful, letting Will speak instead of himself, to avoid exposing him if he'd already been compromised, to protect him as much as possible.

"Uh... you told to be as low-key as possible."

"Anything else?"

"Not to tell the NYPD about Zheng Lagong's information."

"Good, keep that in mind." Luke finished and hung up the phone.

He dialed Negan's number, "Boss, is it convenient to talk?"

"Yes, how's the investigation going? Have you found Zheng Lagong's body?"

"I just received a different piece of information about Zheng Lagong, relayed by my cousin, who said Zheng Lagong might not be dead and is being treated at a New York clinic."

"Can you verify the accuracy of the information?"

"No."

"Do you intend to investigate the clinic?"

"I was thinking that, but I'm worried it might be a trap."

There was silence on the other end of the line, then Negan said, "Got it, I'll inform the intelligence departnt to evacuate the informant who transferred the ssage as soon as possible."

Luke silently praised, as expected from an experienced intelligence officer, catching on quickly.

Luke worried that if the Flying Dragon Gang's higher-ups knew Zheng Lagong was a police informant, they would use his death to spread different information at different halls and levels of the gang, locating and eliminating them in real-ti, catching all the law enforcent informants and undercover agents in one fell swoop.

Simply put, if Luke went to the clinic to investigate, Brother Wolf's gang would be watched by the gang, and Will would likely be exposed.

Similarly, if Bob followed the intelligence departnt's ssage to investigate the winery, the informant in the intelligence departnt could also be discovered.

"Keep an eye on Michael for , and also, thank your cousin for ."

"I will."

Luke hung up the phone, once again feeling the danger of being undercover in the gang.

Hopefully, his speculation was wrong.

"Sir, we have a discovery here." A black FBI agent waved at the warehouse entrance.

Luke and Michael Jett walked over.

Michael Jett asked, "What's the situation?"

"There are a lot of rubber barrels in the warehouse; the warehouse manager said they're empty, but one of them is very heavy, and there should be sothing inside."

Manager Liao said, "They might be wine, these barrels are ant to hold wine."

The black agent said, "The barrel contains a solid material."

Michael Jett turned his head to look at Manager Liao, "What's in the barrel?"

"I don't know either."

"Get your people to open the barrel."

Manager Liao stood still and didn't move.

Michael instructed the black agent, "Open the barrel."

"Yes, sir."

The black agent found a crowbar in the warehouse and went to the barrel, prying open the top lid.

As soon as a gap opened in the lid, a thick stench of decay wafted out. Upon slling this rotten scent, Luke knew without looking that the body was probably decayed beyond recognition, and ordinary people wouldn't have been able to handle it, so it must be left to the professional forensic doctor.

Could he have guessed wrong, and Zheng Lagong's body was really at the winery?

Luke took a few steps back, and the black agent didn't continue prying the lid, needing to disperse the sll from the barrel first, as it was too overwhelming.

After a while, once the sll had dissipated enough, the black agent, wearing a mask, went over and completely opened the barrel's lid.

The black agent looked into the barrel and cursed, "Fuck!"

Michael Jett also stepped forward to check and followed with a curse, "Damn bastard."

Luke walked over to the barrel and saw inside a decaying body, but it wasn't human, it was a dog's corpse.

Michael Jett walked to Manager Liao's side, pulling him by the collar over to the barrel, "Tell , what's this about?"

"I don't know." Manager Liao glanced at the barrel and showed a look of disgust.

"Do you believe I'll throw you into the barrel too?"

"It's none of my business; maybe it went in there by itself."

"Do you think I'm an idiot? Even if it could get into the barrel, it couldn't seal the lid by itself.

Are you playing gas with us?" Michael Jett also realized sothing was off, but was unable to figure it out, as if it was separated by a thin layer of window paper.

Luke grabbed Michael Jett by the arm, "Let him go, now's not the ti to be angry.

Continue searching."

Though Luke felt his speculation was correct, that Zheng Lagong's corpse was a fake ssage spread by the Flying Dragon Gang.

But they had already headed over, and leaving now wouldn't change the fact of the informant's exposure, so it was better to search thoroughly. Even if no body was found, at least find so other 'evidence,' they couldn't return empty-handed.

Michael Jett stared at Manager Liao, "I got my eyes on you, Charlie Liao."

Manager Liao's face looked a bit uncomfortable as he retreated quietly to the side. Though he had gang connections, even if he were a gang mber, he wouldn't dare confront at this mont.

Half an hour later, a police dog team arrived at the winery, search dogs were deployed to search the winery, this search lasted for nearly two hours, almost running through the entire winery, but still no discovery of Zheng Lagong's body.

However, the FBI agent found so prohibited firearms in the winery's basent, likely smuggled items, and Manager Liao was taken back to the FBI office for investigation.

This anticlimactic search operation was concluded.

After Luke returned to the FBI New York office, he went to the director's office on the seventh floor.

Negan was on the phone, motioning for Luke to sit on the sofa first.

The room was filled with the strong sll of smoke, and a few cigarette butts were scattered in the ashtray, apparently, the past two hours had also frustrated Negan.

After finishing the call, Negan sat down next to the sofa, his expression sowhat gloomy, lighting another cigarette, and taking a deep drag, "How did the winery search go?"

"So contraband was found, Michael is dealing with it."

Negan sighed lightly, "The intelligence departnt's informant has gone missing."

Luke was taken aback, so it had happened after all, "Have rescuers been sent?"

Negan nodded, "I've deployed a SWAT team, hoping it's not too late..."
