"I didn't lie."

Luke patted his shoulder, "Buddy, congratulations.

From my experience, as long as Billie Warwick lies in her testimony, the police will most likely drop the charges against you due to insufficient evidence."

"So I don't have to go through with the settlent against my will?" Danny Carter looked hopefully at Luke and Daisy.

Daisy responded, "Yes, this is good news for you, a victory for this phase."

Danny Carter swung his fist energetically, "I've been carrying a lot these days...

Many people online are calling a rapist...

I don't know what's driving them, but I really want to prove my innocence.

Thank you, you've given hope, and that ans a lot to .

I can now loudly tell my family, friends, and fans that I didn't do it."

"Ding-a-ling-a-ling..." Just then, Danny Carter's phone rang.

Danny Carter pressed the answer button, "This is Danny."

"Danny Carter?"

"Yes."

"Mr. Carter, I have good news, your Porsche 911 has been found."

"Wow, that's really a surprise..." Danny Carter gave Luke a thumbs up.

...

The next morning.

At the Luke family's house.

Luke brewed a pot of tea and sat leisurely in the yard drinking it.

He had already found the crucial evidence to clear Danny Carter's na, and as long as everything went smoothly, it wouldn't be long before the police dropped the charges.

Luke would then receive a substantial commission.

Yesterday, after leaving the hotel, Luke and Daisy had a private conversation.

Daisy estimated that once the police withdrew the lawsuit, Luke could earn a commission of about half a million dollars.

However, as Daisy put it, despite the criminal lawsuit being dropped, Billie Warwick could still file a civil lawsuit, so strictly speaking, the assignnt was only half complete.

If Billie Warwick really pursued a civil lawsuit, Danny Carter might ask for Luke's assistance again in order to resolve the issue quickly, which could an another additional commission for Luke.

Of course, the civil lawsuit was just Daisy's speculation and might not necessarily happen.

As for that, Luke wasn't too concerned, as the commission from the criminal lawsuit alone, fifty thousand dollars, had already satisfied him.

As Luke sipped his tea, he watched the cars and pedestrians passing by and thought about treating himself to sothing nice.

Just earning money and not spending it wasn't his style.

But on second thought, he didn't seem to lack anything at the mont.

Besides, he had just celebrated his birthday; his uncle had given him a lighter, his mom a leather bag, Daisy a Rolex watch, and his dad a dagger, so there was nothing he needed to buy for now.

Buy another car?

Luke already owned two vehicles, a rcedes G500 and a Harley.

They were sufficient for normal life for the ti being.

But during this assignnt, Luke had realized one issue: his cars were too conspicuous, not at all in keeping with a detective's low-profile principle.

Take tailing soone, for instance: if you're driving a rcedes G500, most people would take a second look, and that could easily give you away.

Luke planned to get a more inconspicuous, cheaper car for performing assignnts, a 'regular' one.

"Wooo..."

Just then, a 'junker' pulled up to the gate.

It was a black, old-model Chevrolet sedan, which Luke guessed had been out of production for many years; it sported quite a few scratches and dents, and the rearview mirror was wrapped with tape, with the tire tread nearly worn smooth.

Luke felt the car might only be a couple of years younger than him.

Out of the car ca two chubby figures, his Uncle Val and chubby Jack.

Luke frowned, "What brings you here?"

Val swayed the bag in his hand, "Heard you were ho resting because of a shooting incident, so we brought you so gifts."

The chubby kid had a large soda in his hand, "Here you go, bro."

"Popcorn, chips, corn flakes, and soda, your gifts are quite unique indeed," Luke said with a bittersweet smile.

Val handed the bag to Luke, "I need to use the restroom." He then quickly walked into the house.

Luke asked the chubby kid beside him, "What's going on? Why didn't you even call?"

"If I said we were kicked out by mom, would you believe it?"

"I would believe it without a doubt." Luke handed the bag back to the chubby kid, knowing that with these two characters around, his plans for a leisurely day off were dashed.

The chubby kid entered the living room and looked at the fish tank on the table, "Bro, when did you buy fish?"

"Just bought them a few days ago."

"The little fish are colorful and quite pretty." The chubby kid began to act, grabbing the bag of fish food next to the fish tank and pouring it in.

"Enough, enough, don't give them too much, they'll be overfed," Luke quickly snatched the bag of fish food back.

The chubby kid's round face pressed against the fish tank, "Look how happy they're eating, I think we could feed them a bit more."

"No," Luke refused flatly.

Val also ca over, staring at the fish tank for a while, "Are these gold coins real?"

"Of course, I'll give you one when you get married."

Val looked at Luke, "You're such a miser."

The chubby kid said, "Bro, will you give one when I get married?"

Luke smiled, "Don't even think about it."
