The male nurse approached room 309, turned around to observe his surroundings, and exchanged a brief gaze with Luke...

Luke imdiately drew his pistol, "Los Angeles Police, don't move!"

"Bang bang..."

Almost simultaneously, the male nurse pivoted and fired.

Both sides fired at almost the sa mont.

Luke felt a bullet graze past his left chest. He didn't know if he was hit, nor could he feel any pain.

He continuously pulled the trigger with his right hand until the gunman fell, blood splattered, and the gun also dropped to the ground.

The gunfire happened in an instant; as soon as Luke drew his pistol, the male nurse was already injured and down, the fight was over. "Damn it, what happened? Who is he?"

The male nurse had been wearing a mask all along; Luke couldn't see his face, so naturally, he was unable to recognize him as the gunman from the sketch.

Luke walked over to the male nurse, gun in both hands, kicked away the man's pistol, and noticed multiple gunshot wounds. Only his arm was bleeding, "Fuck, are you wearing a bulletproof vest?"

Luke pinned the suspect to the ground and handcuffed him.

"Ah..." Both of the male nurse's arms were shot, causing him to cry out in pain.

Luke ignored him and continued the search, finding another pistol and a dagger on him.

Next, Luke tore open the man's shirt, revealing a black bulletproof vest embedded with several bullets.

At that mont, a voice rang in Luke's mind, "Bullet-Proof Card activated, used."

Luke checked his body; a bullet had pierced the left side of his shirt, leaving a single hole, but fortunately, it didn't hit his chest. The inner side of his right arm also had a slashed hole; it seed this shirt was beyond saving.

Luke inwardly exclaid at the close call, knowing that if it weren't for the "Bullet-Proof Card," he might have been the one lying on the ground.

He was facing a well-prepared professional killer, much more dangerous than a typical suspect.

The sound of gunfire briefly caused chaos in the hospital.

Luke hurried to maintain order, soothe patients and dical staff, and simultaneously, he had the dical staff treat the shooter's gunshot wounds.

...

At five o'clock in the afternoon.

In room 405, Luke t the 'male nurse' again, now treated for gunshot wounds.

The male nurse's arm was bandaged, his face sowhat pale, but wearing a bulletproof vest, he had not been critically wounded.

Luke got straight to the point, "What's your na?"

The male nurse glanced at Luke, "Are you wearing a bulletproof vest?"

"No."

"Then why weren't you hit?"

"Your shooting sucks."

"Impossible, at such a close range, I couldn't possibly miss."

"Then it just shows you weren't calm enough, got scared off by my badge as a policeman."

"Impossible, I am confident in my shooting skills.

"You weren't wearing that shirt this morning; changing clothes ans I hit you, you definitely wore a bulletproof vest!" the male nurse said confidently.

Luke looked at him, "Does this matter a lot to you?"

"Yes."

"Glad to hear you're pleased," Luke did not want to continue the topic, "What's your na?"

"Why should I tell you?"

"You won't say, but I can find out."

"Then go find out yourself."

"Listen, if you don't cooperate with the investigation, I'll tell the dia during the news conference that you're a crappy hitman who missed at ten ters, not hitting once."

"You're lying, you were wearing a bulletproof vest."

"But they don't know that, and I won't tell. They will only think your shooting skills suck and you're a lousy hitman." Luke felt from the conversation that this mattered a lot to him.

The male nurse glared at Luke nacingly and finally gave a na, "Vadim Tovani."

Luke pulled out a photo of Garrett Swan, "This man died in room 611 of Patuo Apartnt, did you kill him?"

"I don't know him."

"Your denial is futile, we have a witness; she has already identified you."

Vadim Tovani scoffed, showing disdain.

"I'm not lying; the female witness truly didn't die, otherwise, I wouldn't have recognized you imdiately."

Vadim Tovani turned to look at Luke.

Luke smiled, "Don't think you're the only one who wears a bulletproof vest.

"You did hit her, and she was injured, but it wasn't fatal.

"You really are a failed hitman."

"Shut up."

Vadim Tovani, after shooting the female witness Anise Snow, saw Luke drag Anise Snow to the side of a car, shielding her from his view. Thinking he had succeeded, he hastily fled.

The angrier Vadim Tovani got, the louder Luke laughed, "You better cooperate with us and make a statent, otherwise, I'll tell the dia and let the whole world know you're the worst hitman.

"I'll personally write it on your tombstone, haha."

Luke beca serious, "Buddy, we don't want to mock you, but you need to cooperate with our work. We have enough evidence, your denial won't help.

"Better for us to have a proper talk; it's beneficial for everyone."

Vadim Tovani countered, "How did you find ?"

Luke counterquestioned, "Why did you co to the hospital?"

"I ca to kill Casdi Torres."

"Who is your real target?"

"Casdi Torres."

"That day Casdi Torres was sitting in a BMW, why didn't you kill him, but chose to shoot the driver instead? Was the BMW's driver your target?"
