Western Subdivision.
Old rookie John entered the conference room from the back door, greeted his colleagues around, and sat down in the front row.
Lucy was sitting beside him, and the two chatted softly for a few monts.
Before long, a middle-aged black man dressed in a police uniform walked through the front door and onto the stage of the conference room.
John approached him and said, "Detective Chief Gray, I'd like to talk with you."
"About what?"
"About that false alarm case. Yesterday, Lucy and I worked overti investigating and found so new clues."
"New clues?"
"Yes," John said, full of confidence.
"I understand. Please sit back down."
"Detective Chief, I haven't told you what the clues are?"
Gray spoke indifferently, "John, I appreciate your work ethic, but it's not needed anymore."
"Why?
We searched all the convenience stores around the cell phone signal area and got the info or photos of every custor who recently bought disposable phones. By checking out these people, we could likely find the suspect who made the false alarm."
"You're right, you work diligently, and that's comndable," said Gray, his tone shifting, "But the Robbery and Murder Departnt has already caught the person who made the false alarm last night."
"Caught them!" Now it was John's turn to be surprised, "They got them so fast?"
"That's right. Captain Li personally led the team. Don't say you didn't see it coming; I didn't expect the suspect to be caught so quickly either."
Hearing Gray's words, John walked back to his seat, looking dispirited.
Lucy asked, "What's wrong? The detective chief didn't praise you?"
John didn't answer, still evidently preoccupied.
"What on earth happened?" Lucy asked, concerned.
John took a deep breath, "Do you... want to see streak?"
Lucy "...."
....
Ten o'clock in the morning.
Prandle community, number 105.
A black Dodge car was parked by the roadside.
Little Black got out of the car and glanced at Jackson beside him, "Rookie, you seem pretty excited today."
"We've solved the case, shouldn't I be happy?" Jackson retorted.
"Co on, this kind of case is a no-brainer. It wouldn't even rank in the Robbery and Murder Departnt; I can't see anything to be proud of."
"I made a bet with a forr colleague from the Western Subdivision about who could catch the person who made the false alarm first. The loser has to streak."
Little Black laughed, "Why didn't you tell such a aningful thing?"
"It's not too late to know now."
"Can I go watch?"
"That's a bit tricky; I have to get his permission first."
"A man or a woman?"
"A man, you know him."
"The old rookie?"
"That's right."
"Then forget it, I'm not interested in the nudity of middle-aged people." Little Black shook his head and strode directly to Jamie Robinson's front door, saying to Jackson, "Detective Jackson, what are you standing around for? Knock on the door."
"As you wish, Detective Chief Marcus." Jackson grimaced,
"Knock, knock."
Monts later, the door opened.
Jamie Robinson stood at the entrance, questioning, "Why are you here again?"
Little Black said, "Mr. Robinson, we're here to ensure your safety, to check if anything's out of the ordinary."
"I'm fine, you can leave now."
Little Black blocked the door, "Hey, got nothing to say?"
"Say what?"
"Let ask you again."
"What's this attitude?
You haven't heard my complaint about you using a Taser on yet.
And now you co to trouble again.
Do you think I'm easy to bully?
Better disappear from my sight, otherwise, I'll definitely sue you."
Jackson spoke up, "Mr. Robinson, we're here about the false alarm case."
"Listen, investigating is your business; I've told you everything I know. Don't harass about this anymore, OK?"
Little Black said, "We're here today to tell you that the false alarm suspect has been caught."
"You've caught them?" Now it was Jamie Robinson's turn to be astounded.
"That's right."
"Uh... where is the person who made the false alarm? What's their na?"
"Far off in the distance, yet close before the eyes," said Little Black, winding his right index finger in the air, pointing at Jamie Robinson.
"Don't joke around, how could I call the cops on myself, let alone have them shoot at .
I'm the victim here, and the false alarm was made by a woman. You really are unreasonable."
"True, the alarm call wasn't made by you, but by a woman nad Suri Madic, and according to her identification, you are an accomplice," Little Black retorted.
"What? Suri Madic identified !" Jamie Robinson exclaid in shock.
"That's right; that's why we're here today," Little Black revealed the handcuffs.
"Hey hey hey, you must be mistaken," Jamie Robinson backed away hastily, "I have nothing to do with the false alarm; I'm the victim."
"If unrelated, why would Suri Madic identify you as an accomplice?"
"She really pointed out?"
"Why else would we know, and why co to your house?"
"God, why would she do that." Jamie Robinson showed a look of disappointnt and confusion, "This matter really has nothing to do with . I don't know why, but she's lying."
Jackson asked, "Do you know Suri Madic?"
"Uh... yes, we are friends,"
Jackson questioned, "Then, did you know she made the false alarm?"
Jamie Robinson hesitated, "I... I don't know."
