Reid smiled and said, "Hello, Mrs. Burnett.
I just heard about Marcus getting married, and I can hardly believe it.

Jack stood by, introducing his colleagues to Julian one by one.
So, like the deputy head and Matthew, had never t Julian.

Around 7:10 pm, David also arrived by car, and all the guests for the gathering were present.

Jack ca over with a tray, placing the cooked at into plates, "Guys, we've been working on cases all day, and now we're finally off, so why not talk about sothing light-hearted."
David laughed, "Good idea, how about your married life, Jack? How does it feel?"
Jack took a seat, "Good, it feels aweso, hot coffee and breakfast waiting every morning, and a lit ho no matter how late I return, very heartwarming.

David raised his glass, "Buddy, congratulations. To be honest, I never thought you'd be the first among us to get married."
Jenny said, "I never thought so either."

"Life is filled with uncertainties. If everything was predictable, there would be no fun in living.

Jack caught on and his expression brightened with surprise, "Oh my God, Detective Chief Marcus! I've been promoted!
Did you guys hear that? I'm a detective chief now!"
"Chief, Captain, thank you so much... I'm so happy, I don't even know what to say."
Reid said, "Marcus, I've always been aware of your capabilities, you're an essential mber of the team. But you also have a clear flaw: you're not steady enough and too casual in your work.
Your decision to get married and start a new family shows that you're ready to take responsibility. You're becoming a husband and a father, proving you're more stable than before.
The position of detective chief is well deserved."
"Chief, thank you for recognizing , I've always felt..." Jack, an emotional man, began to tear up. As a black officer, he'd always felt a natural closeness to Chief Reid.

"Thank you." Marcus responded with a smile, clinked glasses with everyone, and then ran over to where Julian was preparing the vegetable salad,
"Hey, sweetie, did you hear that?
I've been promoted.
I'm Detective Chief Marcus now!"
