Subsequently, Blacky took Tom to the police departnt office.

A black man in his twenties looked at Luke and the others with a hint of wariness and unease.

Luke asked Blacky to take his statent.

According to Tom, he hadn't paid much attention to the incident that night and his mory of it was not very clear, so he didn't provide any valuable clues.

However, he did bring the dashcam video.

Luke handed the video over to the tech team for processing, and after so professional editing, the footage beca much clearer.

At 10:42 p.m., while the car was passing through an intersection, it captured a man and a woman on the roadside, engaged in a physical altercation, apparently in the midst of a dispute.

The woman bore a resemblance to the victim.

The man, with his back to the cara, wore a baseball cap. His face wasn't visible, and most of his body was obscured by a black sedan, although the skin exposed seed to be that of a white male.

More crucially, after the video was enhanced, the license plate number was also sowhat visible.

License plate number, 8evs834

Registered owner, Helson Sweeney

Gender, male

Age, 38

Address, 504 Soma Community

Phone number, 626 876 4837

Social Security number, 623-53-4853

...

Soma Community.

On the roadside, a white two-story villa.

The villa had both a front and a back yard, surrounded by wooden fences, with a white male mowing the lawn in the backyard.

Two black cars stopped by the roadside, and four people stepped out.

It was indeed Luke, Blacky, Marcus, and Jenny.

If you looked closely, a xican man was also sitting in the driver's seat of the second car.

The group split up to take different actions.

Jenny and Blacky went to the front yard, while Luke walked to the backyard with Jackson.

Luke and Jackson circled around the yard and didn't see the suspect's car; the garage door was closed.

Upon reaching the backyard and seeing the man mowing the lawn, approximately 1.85 ters tall, Luke couldn't be sure of the suspect's appearance, but the man's race and height matched the suspect's description.

The man also noticed Luke and Jackson, "Guys, are you new here? I haven't seen you around before."

"Your yard is very well-maintained," Luke complinted him, introducing himself, "My na's Luke, and yours?"

"Helson. Which house do you live in?"

"You're Helson Sweeney?"

"Yes, that's . Are you here specifically for ? Who are you guys?" Helson Sweeney seed to sense sothing was off.

Jackson showed his badge, "We're from the Robbery and Murder Departnt, this is Captain Lee, and I'm Detective Jackson."

"Robbery and Murder Departnt?"

"I think I've heard of you, yes, the poisoning case a while back was solved by you guys.

Wow, why are you looking for ? I'm rather flattered."

"Do you happen to have a black Chevrolet sedan, license plate number 8evs834?"

"Uh, is there a problem?"

"Please answer my question directly."

"Yes, that's my car. What about it?"

"We are investigating a criminal case. On the evening of September 15th, around 10 p.m., were you driving that car at the intersection of Viola Street and Staven Street?"

"No no no, I haven't driven that car for a while; you might have the wrong person."

"So you an the car wasn't with you?"

"Yes, that car is being used by my wife, who will probably be my ex-wife soon."

"You're having problems with your relationship?"

"It's complicated, hard to explain in a few words. If you need to inquire about the car, you should talk to her.

We are separated."

"What's your wife's na?"

"Gelina Sweeney."

"When did you last contact her?"

Helson Sweeney paused for a mont, then shook his head with a wry smile, "Damn, I can't even rember. Embarrassing, isn't it?"

"Can you contact her?"

"I have her phone number, if you need it?"

Luke didn't respond imdiately, pondering in his mind. The white male captured in the dashcam footage that night fitted Helson Sweeney's description.

But he said he hadn't driven the car recently, and Luke didn't see any obvious signs of lying.

His wife didn't fit the suspect's description, but it didn't rule out the possibility that she was part of a criminal group.

"Please help us contact her to confirm her location, but don't let on that we are looking for her."

"Uh... sir, although we aren't divorced yet, we're separated, and she might not be too happy to hear from ."

"Just make the call. Put it on speaker, and I will give you cues."

Helson Sweeney clapped his hands, pulled out his phone, and dialed a number, but the call didn't go through, going straight to voicemail.

"As you can hear, the call didn't go through."

"Do you know her current address?"

Helson Sweeney nodded, "Of course, I still pay the rent."

...

Twenty minutes later.

Under Helson Sweeney's guidance, Luke and the others arrived at Pulga Community.

Three cars parked beside a gray house.

The group got out of their cars one after another.

Luke surveyed the surroundings; he didn't notice any suspicious people or the suspect vehicle, and then he looked toward the gray house, "Does your wife live here?"

"Yes, I've been here once before," Helson Sweeney sighed lightly, as if recalling sothing.

"Does your wife live alone here?"

Helson Sweeney hesitated, "I don't know, maybe."
