The sound of gunfire filled him with a bad premonition, and he could not stay put any longer; he wanted to go inside to provide support.

But thinking of Luke's order, he hesitated…

After quickly weighing the pros and cons in his mind, he decided to enter the house to help.

If sothing were to happen to Luke and Blackie, he would never forgive himself.

Even if Luke reproached him afterward, he would accept it.

Jackson opened the door, and just as he stepped into the house, he saw a person dart out from the shadows beside him.

Jackson imdiately raised his handgun, "LAPD, don't move!"

However, the Black man did not heed his command; with a swing of his right hand, he tossed a handgun that hit Jackson right on the back of the hand.

"Bang!"

Jackson fired.

But, because of the impact of the handgun, the shot went astray.

Jackson was stunned; it was the first ti he had seen such a tactic.

Not firing the gun but using it like a throwing star—what irritated him the most was that it was indeed effective, numbing Jackson's hand.

After the shot, the Black man had already charged close, grabbed Jackson's gun with his left hand, ducked to the side, and landed his right fist on Jackson's stomach.

The punch was forceful and heavy; Jackson felt like he had been hit hard, and pain rendered his limbs powerless, curling his whole body together.

His handgun was snatched away by the Black man.

This fluid series of movents dazzled onlookers, and before Jackson could react, his neck was already constricted by the Black man.

"Dada…" A flurry of rapid footsteps ca.

Luke rushed over and pointed his handgun at the Black suspect, but he didn't dare shoot easily because Jackson was being used as a hostage by the suspect, and he might hit Jackson if he fired.

"Let him go, you can't escape."

"We'll see about that." The Black man spoke indifferently, pointing the gun at Jackson's head, "I don't like guns. Once you pick them up, it's hard to put them down.

Plus, they can easily cause accidental injuries.

I have a suggestion, we both put down our guns, and I'll let your partner go, how about that?"

Luke gripped his gun tighter, "You think I would believe you?"

The Black man ejected the magazine and threw Jackson's handgun aside, "How about now?"

"Sorry, although I feel you have no malice toward the police, I still can't let you go," Luke thought. Since you've put down your gun, I see even less need to put mine down.

While it was sowhat shaless, Luke didn't care much.

The Black man tightened his left arm, ruthlessly constricting Jackson's neck, "Without a gun, I can still kill.

To , anything can be a weapon, including my hands."

"Who exactly are you?" Luke voiced the doubt in his mind.

Although Blackie and Jackson's combat skills did not compare to his, they were far stronger than the average person and were physically fit.

The Black man's ability to easily subdue the two of them was no small feat.

Another reason Luke didn't want to lower his gun was the imnse pressure the Black man exuded.

Luke's boxing skills were formidable, nearly at a professional level, but he wasn't confident he could overpower a gunman, let alone an ard police officer.

It was too difficult.

Jackson, with his breathing constricted, his vision blurry, and his voice hoarse, managed to say, "Don't worry about , don't let him escape!"

Suddenly.

Jackson felt a strong force push him from behind; his body uncontrollably surged forward, placing him between Luke and the Black man.

Luke knew the man wanted to run, but with Jackson in the way, he could neither shoot nor disregard his comrade's injuries.

Jackson had just been choked, his brain oxygen-deprived, his steps unstable, and he was about to fall when, fortunately, Luke caught him.

"Jackson, are you alright?"

"I'm fine, Captain, just a bit dizzy."

"Stay here, I'm going after him."

"I'm coming too." Jackson tried to get up but felt dizzy.

"Follow orders!" Luke left him with those words and chased after the suspect.

Luke ran out the back door, and the Black man had already run out the backyard, across the street to the alley opposite.

Luke, gun in hand, yelled, "Stop, don't move!"

"Woo-woo…" A truck drove by on the road, blocking Luke's view.

"Fuck!"

Luke hurriedly followed, but by the ti the truck had passed, the Black man had already run into the alley.

Luke followed him but was wary of the suspect attacking him at the entrance of the alley, so he didn't rashly rush in. He spoke into his walkie-talkie,

"Jenny, the suspect has run into the alley.

Cover !"

Luke, seeing that the Black man didn't hide at the entrance but ran further into the alley, bravely pursued him.

At the end of the alley was an apartnt building with a tal staircase at the back; the Black man climbed up to the second floor and pulled open an apartnt door and entered.

Luke hesitated slightly but still followed; both of his n had been beaten up, he couldn't just watch the suspect escape.

Luke remained cautious, climbing the staircase with his pistol in hand, his peripheral vision scanning the second-floor apartnt door.

However, as he reached the first-floor landing, the door of the first-floor apartnt suddenly burst open without warning.

The Black suspect rushed out, extrely fast, and grabbed for Luke's handgun.

The Black man's sudden appearance shocked Luke; the suspect had left from the second floor, but unexpectedly erged from a first-floor apartnt. There might be an internal passage between the floors in the building.

Luke guessed the suspect might have previously scoped out the area, but there wasn't ti to think further as he instinctively pulled the trigger.
