"I'm Novina's client, and I want to make a complaint about her. I contacted her last night, but she refused to do business with ."

"I'm sorry, sir, there has been an issue at Novina's ho, and she might need to rest for a few days. I can introduce you to a few others whose skills are guaranteed to be even better than Novina's."

"I still want Novina."

"Then you'll have to wait until she cos back from ho."

"That's too bad."

"Trust , sir, I can introduce you to soone better."

"All right, I'll think about it." To avoid suspicion, Luke didn't say much and hung up the phone.

"Jenny, have the tech team trace this phone number." From their conversation, Luke deduced that the other party must know sothing.

"As you wish, Captain."

1203 Kamas Street.

Roska Apartnts.

Jackson parked the car outside the apartnt complex's parking lot.

"Rookie, follow my lead when we get going." Little Black threw down these words as he exited the passenger seat.

Jackson sighed softly, "Marcus, I'm a detective just like you. Even though I'm the new guy, it doesn't necessarily an I'm worse off."

"Do you want to find out?" Marcus replied.

"I just want to focus on the case."

"Good, follow ."

Little Black used a key card found in a blue leather bag to swipe through the gate and entered the apartnt complex.

This was an old-style building without an elevator, so they had to take the stairs.

The building had five floors, and as they reached the third floor, a tall white man hurried downstairs and bumped into Jackson.

Jackson dodged to the side; their shoulders only brushed against each other, and neither of them fell.

"Hey, watch it, you almost knocked over," Jackson frowned and patted his shoulder as if worried about getting his clothes dirty.

"Fuck, you fucking pansy."

"Keep your mouth clean."

"Wanna fight? One punch could kill you," the white man brandished his fist, dropped a harsh word, and continued downstairs.

Little Black glanced at Jackson, "That idiot speaking Bear Talk just insulted you, and you let him walk away?"

"If a dog barks at you, do you bark back?" Jackson shrugged his shoulders.

Little Black swung his fist, "I'd hit it, hard."

Jackson said, "We're cops, and if we get into conflicts with civilians for a reason like this, we can easily get into trouble."

Little Black countered, "You're not scared because he's bigger, are you?"

"I'm not afraid of him, it just feels unnecessary."

"OK, it wasn't who got insulted, anyway." Little Black reached the third floor and stopped in front of Apartnt 309, knocking on the door, "Dong dong..."

After knocking for a while with no response, Little Black signaled to Jackson to be on guard, then took a key out of his pocket and unlocked the door.

"Creak..." The door opened.

Little Black and Jackson entered the apartnt, one after the other.

"All clear."

"No one's here."

The apartnt wasn't big, just a large studio with a bathroom. The kitchen was by the entryway, and they quickly determined there was no one else in the apartnt.

"What a ss…" Little Black scanned the apartnt and picked up a photo from the table, "It's her, the sa person as in the driver's license photo."

Jackson was also surveying the apartnt, "Um, I get the feeling… this apartnt looks like soone has searched through it…"

"Ding ling ling…"

Little Black's phone rang. He looked at it and chuckled, "Captain, we're at the victim's place and are searching the room."

Over the phone ca Luke's voice, "Be careful, Marcus. The victim seems to have been involved in prostitution. I made contact with her superior. After tracing the phone, I found that person is near the apartnt.

That person could very well have sothing to do with the victim's death."

Little Black replied, "Does he have any distinguishing features?"

"He's known as Petrov, with a Bear Accent. I have a recording of his conversation; you could listen."

"No need, I know who that is." Little Black suddenly rembered the man who had bumped into Jackson.

They went upstairs while that man went downstairs. Could it be that he just left the apartnt?

The more he thought about it, the more he believed it to be possible.

Little Black thought about giving chase, but worried the other man might have gone too far. Then, struck with an idea, he opened the apartnt's curtains and stood by the window looking down, searching for the suspicious man's figure.

Jackson asked in confusion, "What's wrong?"

"The idiot who bumped into you might be related to the victim. We need to find him." Little Black pointed to the parking lot below after finishing his sentence, "There he is, that bastard's getting into a black Volvo."

Little Black told Luke on the phone, "Luke, we've found that bastard, we'll bring him in!"

After hanging up, they dashed downstairs.

When they reached the ground floor of the apartnt complex, just in ti to see the car pulling onto the main road, heading eastward.

They ran to the parking lot quickly and got into their car.

Little Black urged, "Drive fast, catch up with that bastard."

Jackson started the car and floored it, nearly grazing another vehicle driving along normally as they exited the parking lot.

Little Black shouted, "Hey, watch the cars, your driving is awful."

"Now's the rush hour; the traffic is at its peak. I'm doing my best," Jackson replied.

Little Black looked ahead in frustration, "Damn, I'm almost losing sight of that car."

"I told you, it's peak hour, we're lucky it's not a gridlock already." As Jackson finished speaking, the traffic ahead ca to a standstill.
