Luke flashed his badge, "Robbery and Murder Departnt Assistant Captain Luke."
"Oh…" Markway drew out his voice, instinctively stepping back, "What can I do for you?"
"Darcy misses you, asked to send his regards."
"That kind of joke isn't funny."
"I'm not joking; I'm telling the truth. Co with us."
"Wait, I've already given a statent, it was Captain Chen of the Robbery and Murder Departnt's second squad who took it. Why do I need to go to the police station again?"
"I know you've given a statent, but you're involved in a case of poisoning that poses a serious threat to the community, and the case is complex.
Given that there's been new progress in the investigation, we'd like to verify so details with you."
"Uh… then why didn't you call?
Coming directly to the door like this is very impolite, and this isn't my ho, it's my friend's ho.
By doing this, you're disrupting my friend's normal life."
Moses nodded, "Markway is right, you're being impolite. If I weren't so patient, I would definitely complain about you."
In fact, the police were there to investigate the hoowner, Moses.
Moses had been to Shanyuan Supermarket to buy red wine, and the police suspected he might be involved in the poisoning case.
Matthew checked the network IP registered in his na, traced the devices that had used this IP through cyber investigation, and found traces of browsing the black market on one of the computers, where it was suspected that highly toxic cyanide had been purchased, leading to the arrest.
The discovery of Markway was just an accident, but it was precisely this accident that linked the clues of the entire poisoning case.
From the current evidence, Markway was highly likely to be a key figure in the case.
"Moses, we're not just here for Markway today, we're also here for you."
"What do you want with ?"
Luke glanced around, noticing that quite a few neighbors had co out to watch, "This isn't the place to talk. How about we go to the station?"
"No, don't even think about it. I'm not going anywhere, least of all to the police station."
Jack flashed the arrest warrant, "Moses, it's not up to you.
You can either walk yourself, or wear a pair of lovely silver bracelets and be escorted away under the watchful eyes of many neighbors."
"Oh my God, an arrest warrant, why are you arresting ?"
Luke urged, "Cut the chatter, put on so normal clothes, and co back to the station with us.
Markway, you too."
"I don't have ti right now. I still have work this morning; I'll go to the station in the afternoon."
"Darcy's already dead; what work do you have?"
"That's none of your business, I told you, I have things to do. My willingness to cooperate with the police investigation is contingent on it not affecting my work."
"Then I'll have to arrest you."
Unwilling to comply, Markway asked, "Do you have an arrest warrant?"
"No."
Relieved, Markway said, "Then you don't have the right to arrest ."
Luke had thought to bluff Markway into coming to the station, but it was clear that wouldn't work.
However, this also implied from another angle that he was feeling guilty.
If soft tactics wouldn't work, then it was ti for the hard approach.
"Markway, the police suspect you might be the perpetrator of the poisoning case, with significant suspicion and posing a great risk to society. Considering the safety of the citizens of Los Angeles, I have the right and the duty to take you back to the station."
"No, no, no, I have nothing to do with the poisoning case; you can't fra . I'm Darcy's agent; I'm the last person who would want him dead.
You can't catch the murderer and want to make the scapegoat?"
"Don't rush, once we're back at the station, we'll have plenty of ti to talk." Luke motioned, "Take the two of them away."
Moses shouted, "Hey, don't touch , let go."
"Are you resisting arrest?"
"I need to change my clothes."
…
Luke contacted Susan, updating her on the situation at the scene.
Afterward, with the assistance of patrol officers, Luke, Jack, and Jackson escorted the two suspects back to the station.
Raymond and Jenny stayed behind to search Moses' ho with the technical team.
On the way back, Luke was contemplating the upcoming interrogation.
As per Luke's experience, the interrogation for this case wouldn't be easy.
Markway's suspicions were, relatively speaking, greater.
Therefore, Luke decided to interrogate Moses first, to understand what he knew, and also to gauge his attitude to see how much he understood about the case.
Upon returning to the police station, Markway was temporarily detained.
Susan also didn't plan to interrogate him imdiately since the evidence was still lacking, but she had already applied for an arrest warrant and search warrant. They would not only search Moses' ho but also Markway's, hoping to find more valuable evidence.
Half an hour later, Luke and Jack began interrogating Moses in the interrogation room.
Moses sat with his arms crossed over his chest, glancing at Luke and Jack out of the corner of his eye, his thick lips pouted.
Jack whispered, "Feels like she deserves a slap."
Luke smiled, "Moses, would you like a cup of coffee?"
"No, I don't like cheap coffee."
Jack reminded, "You should get used to it early; today's coffee might be the best you'll have for many years, maybe even decades."
Moses was dissatisfied, "What do you an? Are you threatening to put in jail?"
"Hey, stop using words like 'threat' and 'discrimination,' it makes lose respect for you, you get ?"
"That's my freedom, I don't need anyone's respect."
