"No."

"Criminal record?"

"No."

"Religious beliefs? Political stance?"

"He was an atheist. He didn't have a clear political stance."

"I found more than twenty rifles at the scene, how did he get them into the hotel?"

"Two days before the shooting, he packed the guns in boxes and brought them into the hotel room in batches."

From Anthony's description, the man's relationships seed relatively simple.

Considering his own experience of losing money a couple of days ago, Luke analyzed, "I guess he might have been a regular loser at the casinos, blinded by his losses, turning from a wealthy man to a broke one.

He wanted to take revenge on the hotel, to take revenge on Las Vegas."

Luke's speculation wasn't unfounded. Since the shooting, the number of visitors to Las Vegas had clearly decreased, and furthermore, he estimated that Las Vegas would likely no longer dare to host music festivals in the future.

Anthony nodded and said with a smile, "The possibility you've described is quite substantial.

But there are also conspiracy theories abounding, like the theory that you rushed to the shooting scene not to save people, but to silence soone."

Luke's expression turned sowhat ugly, "Then show that idiot the footage from the bodycam. Or let him co and say that to my face."

Anthony shrugged, "You should know, I'm not targeting you. It's just that so people love to indulge in conspiracy theories.

Just like how many Aricans still don't believe the moon landing was real or even that the Earth is round."

The television hanging in the café continued to broadcast news about the shooting.

At that mont, a voice suddenly broke out from the TV.

"This is CNJ Television, reporting the latest update on the shooting incident.

According to our reporters at the hospital, the death toll from the shooting has risen to 58, with as many as 848 injured.

The case has now been handed over to the FBI for investigation.

Furthermore, our reporters have learned from various sources that the shooting occurred at 10:06 p.m., but the Las Vegas police only reached the room of the gunman after eleven o'clock.

The real person who stopped the gunman from shooting was not the Las Vegas police, but an off-duty police officer from Los Angeles.

This officer is likely to be the Deputy Chief of the Robbery and Murder Departnt, Luke Lee.

We have not been able to reach him yet, and it's unclear why he was at the scene of the shooting.

We will continue to follow up on this investigation to bring the victims of the shooting to truth."

Anthony smiled, "Congratulations, Los Angeles' great hero, you can go ho now."

Luke also smiled, "Letting go so soon?"

"I'm worried that if I don't let you go now, tomorrow your bodycam footage might make it onto the news, and then it won't just be Las Vegas police with a headache."

"Good luck cracking the case," Luke stood up and waved his hand, "I'm off to practice shooting."

Anthony said with a smile, "You even hold a gun wrong. I suggest you find a coach first. Doing things behind closed doors won't lead to results."

"Do you have any recomndations?"

"How about ?"

"Don't you need to investigate cases?"

"Don't forget, you're the very person I'm investigating. Spending more ti with you won't do any harm."

"That doesn't sound very friendly."

"I was a SEAL, I'm definitely the best rifle coach."

"That sounds pretty good."

Subsequently, Luke began practicing rifle shooting under Anthony's guidance.

Luke didn't know if Anthony had any other motives, but his marksmanship was indeed impressive, and he was a good coach.

He taught Luke not only how to use a gun but also many practical combat skills.

Seizing the opportunity, he began to learn eagerly.

With the aid of a rifle card, Luke's progress was rapid. His rifle shooting skills improved significantly within just one day, even earning Anthony's admiration…

The next day, Luke drove back to Los Angeles in his rcedes G500.

As for the reward of $500,000 promised by the MGM Group, it hadn't been deposited yet, but Luke wasn't in a rush; he believed they would surely pay up.

If the MGM Group didn't, they would be playing Luke for a fool.

Just as the MGM Group had feared before, if they offended Luke, it could influence the forthcoming exorbitant claim cases.

As long as they weren't fools, they definitely wouldn't make such a shortsighted mistake.

Luke drove back to Los Angeles. The more than four-hour trip was a bit boring and sowhat strenuous. When he ca, there were two people, but on the return, he was alone.

Having nothing better to do these past two days, he also gave thoughtful consideration to his relationship with Daisy.

After Daisy had cut her trip short and returned to Los Angeles midway, Luke hadn't contacted her.

Afterward, Luke felt so regret.

His regret wasn't because he feared Daisy would get angry, but because he felt his behavior... wasn't what a mature man should do.

He had been petulant.

Having idle ti these past two days, Luke thought it over more carefully; he wasn't immature, but his ntality was sowhat off balance.

Simply put, he felt that he had invested a lot but hadn't received the expected return.

He had always treated Daisy as his girlfriend, but her attitude had been sowhat ambiguous.

At first, Luke thought Daisy was just focused on her work, and he didn't take it to heart too much.

But on reflection, he realized there hadn't been much sweetness between him and Daisy from the start, lacking that feeling of being in love.

The reason he was with Daisy was because he lusted after her body, but he didn't particularly like her strong-willed personality.

And Daisy was with Luke because she had been through a robbery and had been spied on in her ho by a cara installation. She was under high ntal stress at the ti and needed help and soone to rely on, and Luke was right there for her.
